I read somewhere Moogle's music was a remix from an earlier FF's moogle music, which was inspired by 'The Nightmare Before Christmas"s 'This is Halloween'.

I'm pretty sure I've also heard other tunes from previous FF's, though I could be wrong.

My personal opinion is I would like both. I enjoy completely brand new music (Garuda) along with old music tuned up for XIV. I also thoroughly enjoy the piano overworld music.

But yeah, reusing old themes could be nice as long as it wasn't a constant thing and they fit within the context of the content. For instance, if Gilgamesh decided to hop the void into Eorzea, then a remix of Clash On The Big Bridge would be great. Golden Saucer? Sure, maybe a (less obnoxious) mix of its theme that would fit with the rest of the game.

I sure as hell wouldn't want to hear One-Winged Angel just because they can.

honestly but a lot of the music from final fantasy has been reused in previous games, just been changed slightly. atleast that's what i've notice. the only difference i've seen is like the lyrical music like one winged angel and eyes on me and such.

Everyone has different tastes in music, so it is difficult. I would like more symphony or chamber style music and more of a synthetic nintendo sound. Very much dislike the electric guitar and somewhat hard/popular style of music in game currently (relatively speaking).

Every FF game since the first recycled some themes; main FF theme, chocobo theme, stuff like that is just changed a little bit but stays basically the same.
I'm fine with that, it kind of connects the different games together.
But I would never want that for boss music or stuff like that because every other FF game had their own themes and FFXIV needs them too.
Also, FFXIV already has some really great songs, like Garuda, inn rooms, the GC ones, etc.
