EX mount drop rates still trash.

I was shocked to discover today that my 99 totems can't even buy me the mount. I've completely wasted my time. Is this real, I now need to sit on these totems for 8 months?
Granted, I should've checked before even starting the grind if I could buy it but, 1) I've managed to always live in the part of the expansion's life cycle where they were already available to buy, I couldn't even imagine this scenario and 2) I had hope until the very last 99th totem that I'd get the drop.
And btw, 99 times, dropped 3 times.

I mean that's more on you than on SE, they've followed the same template for several expansions

There is no good reason to make people wait 8+ months to buy the mount with totems. That should be available immediately.

A terrible idea will still remain a terrible idea whether it was done once or a thousand times. The drop rates I can maybe understand, but the insane time gating for people who slogged through the fight 99 times? An unnecessary slap to the face.

200 kills. Seen 7 mount drops. Rolled poorly every time. Why can't we just buy it now? Why do the developers punish unlucky people. I'll probably keep going to 300 just in the small hope of getting lucky.

That's exactly why I never do EX when it's new. I have better things to spend my time with than running over and over again for nothing.
I really want a wing mount, but I wait until it makes more sense to try to get one.

I hoped for wingmounts for a long time. Honestly it makes me sad that it's locked behind EX trial. :c
So I still hope that we get more other wingmounts. For example normal white wings like we have in the EW treasure map dungeon.

the droprate at release is actually ~5% and gets buffed to 10 and 20% with following patches

They're definitely ~2% on release.

Just because it's 'always' that artificially scarced does not mean that this is good.
Often they talk about respecting the player's time. And then they make such low droprates and make people farm 99 totems and wait a long time.
Droprates should be minimum 33%. Would be still timeconsuming enough.

Drop rates are why I'm glad I only use the Legacy Goobbue as my mount. I saw 1 Ex1 Mount, 0 Ex2, I got my weapon,and accessories and I'll just go back to doing EXs to help friends or out of boredom
