    idk I'm kinda sick of people who run content ONCE, at a push twice, die over and over, and because of that consider it a fault of the core design.

    As with any normal content, I guarantee the 5th time you run it, it will be so much easier for you.

    Failing that, how about:

    A) Don't do the content. Half of the stuff folks are complaining about are optional anyway.
    or
    B) Persevere. Learn. Failure causes you to grow and learn, so long as you use like one braincell and look inward, content will only become easier.

    Genuinely don't understand why people are so deathly afraid of wiping and taking option B. I've been seeing posts on Twitter too where people complain about not wanting to wipe after their first run. Why are you afraid of resetting and trying again when this is something you do regularly in any other genre of game? Does it hurt your ego? Well I'm sorry, your ego has no place here if you haven't learned anything in five expansions to back it up. It's baffling how fragile players nowadays are. Fight design is the ONE thing I will praise DT for, and they're trying to squander it.

    Don't understand how things are to hard for people when it's natural progression for the game to get harder over time. All game's do this they are supposed to get harder the farther you get into the game or else there is no more challenge. So its not the game's fault of the dev's fault if content is to hard for you if anything it's the peoples fault as the player's so if you cant handle the difficulty increasing as the game progresses then don't play, and as much as you may wanna say that the dungeons aren't as hard well yeah they aren't supposed to be as hard as DT dungeons. The dungeons have always gotten more and more difficult with each new expansion.

    By the time someone has completed DT, they will be LVL 100 in an MMO that's been running for a decade--let the fights (even the normal fights) be challenging. If I'm going to log time in a game with fights, I'd like for those fights to be engaging. If I wanted to mindlessly press buttons, I could find a way to do that for cheaper than the cost of my sub

    In a lot of ways, FF14 is a visual novel with an MMO strapped to its side, but the reality of the game still demands that players meet the expectations of an MMO. This is the flip side of the people who complain that current raid content shouldn't be locked behind story progression. FF14 is unique among MMOs for its blend of story & dynamic party content. If you can't find pleasure in the fast-paced, reflex-based, spatially-aware style of gameplay that makes up of half of FF14, then FF14 ultimately isn't for you. I don't see why the game should be adjusted to accommodate people who don't enjoy one of its core components

    That it took you four tries it clear Valigarmanda without dying, but that you finally managed it, is an achievement, & one you should be proud of. If you don't take pride in overcoming a challenge, then why are you playing this game?

    I don't think I have anything to add that hasn't already been said in favor of the higher difficulty, but I'm personally very relieved that the game is giving me a challenge after I was so underwhelmed by the last couple years of normal content. I play XIV for the story above all, make no mistake, but I also enjoy developing and refining a skill - if I can't fail, learn, and strive, what's the point of the MMO aspect of this game? I only consider myself a slightly-above-average player, but I found the majority of the raids in post-EW to be painfully dull once I'd learned the fight (Myths of the Realm in particular). It's nice that everything isn't one-and-done this time, especially since I'll have to replay these fights for tomes.

    Do not give in YoshiP. The difficulty of Dawntrail is perfect for normal content. People need to learn, not the mechanics, but that is OK to struggle in content, not the end of the world. The content needs to be engaging. Everything we had in the past was BORING. Terribly boring. This is also level 100, at some point people need to pay attention to mechanics.
    Perfect balance: Mechanics easy to execute, but have to pay attention to what the boss is doing and react accordingly. There isn't even a dps check!

    I am a filthy casual peasant that hardly plays endgame content and the only wipe we had on our very first run of day one raids was on the first fight when half the group fell through the floor. We didn't fall through the floor again. The normal raids are easy, what in the world are you smoking? I get that not everyone can not stand in the fire but that's on you, not the game. You know the trick? Learn the fight. There is a grand total of 0 RNG in the mechanics other than the position of the no-no circles. Just learn to not stand in the no-no circles and who gets the arrows. It may take a couple passes but you'll get it.

    Also who on earth expects "chill content" out of RAIDS? Raids used to be notoriously difficult in past MMOs which is why the term has carried over to other MMOs for their harder endgame group content. Raids are meant to be more difficult. Difficult is supposed to be what raids are about as it has always been. Don't try to bring the rest of us down to your level. You don't like it, don't raid. Simple as.

    This filthy casual love the direction SE is taking with normal content. I am excited to repeat M2. 10/10 would dodge hearts again.
