Keep up the good work on the difficulty and engagement, dev team. Don't listen to these kinds of outcries, these fights feel about as tuned as Omega raids and Eden raids are. This is great for the game as a whole, the ease of EW dungeons and normal raids was not.
The difficulty is just right I think. At level 100 people should be expected to be able to handle stuff that's a bit harder. I got a good laugh out of a few of the more unexpected deaths. I do savage/ultimate and I was really happy to actually be caught off guard by some things. I found every fight a joy to do the first time and I'm excited to do them again later today for fun.
I think people just need to realize that wipes and dying are fine. I don't think we should be rolling up to any content and face rolling it, or it gets too boring. I have "join party in progress" selected and my first time doing the second fight in the raids I got a 20 minutes in progress instance. The group did it on the first try after I'd joined and I guarantee most of the people that were there the whole 20 minutes were probably over the moon at finally beating it. Failing at something and then finally beating it is an amazing feeling. That's why people play Soulslikes, it just feels nice to overcome challenges. My first time ever playing a Soulslike I chose to play Bloodborne. I was really bad and it took me 2 weeks to beat Oprhan of Kos and it was one of my most memorable moments in gaming. Nowadays it's not often a Soulslike boss will take me more than 30-60 minutes because I just naturally improved. The same thing will happen for you if you do things that are harder for you, you'll just get better.
Obviously the normal raids aren't Shadow of the Erdtree difficult or anything (and I don't think they should be that level of difficulty), but the point is doing things that prove a challenge help you get better. People are likely finding the new raids hard because there hasn't been any difficulty in casual content during Shadowbringers and Endwalker. The last time I saw anyone complain about casual content being hard was Orbonne and Shinryu normal back in Stormblood, so seeing a return to more difficult normal encounters is awesome.

Well if you have thousands of hours in a MMO (considering going through every single xpac is probably around 1k hours at this point) and you still can't do the bare minimum, that's on you. Git gud.
Sucks to suck i guess
Normal Raids were way too easy the last two expensions, they are optional content and not supposed to be a pushover.
If after 100 levels of gameplay the current normal raids are too hard for you, tough luck, go play something else and stop whining instead of learing from wipes and getting better.
Most of you people calling people dumb for not enjoying the difficulty of the content are just a bunch of elitists, who are just selfcentered who can only see things of your own point of view. The MSQ being terrible is already a problem, but now we can't even enjoy the casual content, because we might land in a hard raid or dungeon, wipe 6 times in it because you land in a group where most players are extremely casual, who just want to do their dailies. Does it sound fun? no? oh right, ''just get better'', well you elitists, you forget that the huge majority of the players DON'T want to get better, most of them are casuals who enjoy playing with friends or do their dailies to relax after work.
You know what killed WoW to many players? exactly the type of players like you all elitits, who kept pushing for harder and harder content, to the point where the regular players just couldn't even dream on keeping up with the content and had to content themselves with the ''whatever content''. Perhaps it is time to just unsub and leave FFXIV to the elitits, you can have the trash MSQ and hard content, perhaps once FFXIV lose a huge portion of their players, they may learn something that WoW seems to be learning now. That Casuals are your real customers, not the elitists who wants to ruin the game for everyone else but themselves.
Ah btw. Normal Raid ARE casual content, since they contain lore and story. The non casual content is Savage, Extreme, etc.
Catering to the bottom of the barrel isn't healthy for the game either and no, normal raids arent casual content, neither are expert dungeons.
There is enough braindead content in the game, go do that if even the slightest challenge is too much for you.
Or just leave, you won't be missed
The lack of self-awareness is quite frankly astounding. You refuse to learn even the basics of the combat system, so you demand that the devs re-lobotomize the game so that you can feel your little sense of accomplishment at putting the triangular prism in the square hole. Go watch the story on youtube if you actually can't be bothered to play a video game after a minimum of around 400 hours logged. There is a large section of the community, in fact some of the most active players, that are not hardcore and simply want content that they find engaging to exist, that they can do weekly without rotting their brains. They finally have that level of content and people like you (a small minority of players that do not actually play the game regularly) are trying to ruin it for them and everyone else. Unsub. I am serious, no one will miss your ilk.
Excuse me but wanting the game to have something a bit more engaging that requires to pay some attention and to know the basics of your job at MAX level is not elitist. Every single fight is very forgiving there were several instances in which only 1 healer and 1 tank were alive and we fully recovered to win the fight. Even if you wipe repeatedly you learn from your mistakes and progress until you eventually get the win. But I agree normal raid are indeed casual content, that doesn't mean you will have an easy time if you lack skill or dont put enough effort into your gameplay. I dont think one of the most fun raid we have had in years should be lessened just because you did not clear it right away. I am by no means a pro I literally just press all the glowing buttons on viper and I still managed to clear all 4 fights on the first try.
