These so called un-telegraphed instakill mechanics are litterally 'telegraphed' by this amazing feature called *The Cast Bar*.
I know, it's hard to grasp this, but i'm sure you will get there.

The castbars in this game litterally tell u what to do. it aint that hard.

This doesn't mean learning things is easy. I once had this chemistry student i remember. She was pre-dental and drew as a hobby. I would tell you her art was gorgeous. She was obviously very smart but she had some sort of block around O-chem. She kept a good attitude and kept trying and her final exam score went up a ton, and she passed the class. I assume now she is doing dental work somewhere and being excellent at it.

As for disabilities, I once was a guild lead in another game where the gameplay was much faster paced and the fights were far less forgiving than they are in FFXIV. Sadly this meant that if people couldn't keep up with mechanics or damage, I had to bench them or else i was making the other 19 people waste their time. I had a player who was missing two fingers on his hands due to a machining accident, which I felt HORRIBLE about, but i was forced to bench him. Unbeknownst to me, he made an alt, kept trying, kept practicing, got quite good, and earned his spot back. I was super happy and proud of him.

Even now I am changing careers and going through a difficult job search. I DREAD checking email and LinkedIN every day. I feel anxious, depressed and angry every time I think about it, which is anytime i have about 10 spare seconds. I still force myself to do it because there is no other way I will ever reach my goals no matter how hard it try.

The best teacher in life is failure. Us humans, we are imperfect beings with strong emotions, flawed heuristic decision making, and often times do incredibly stupid things against our own self-interest. This is NORMAL. Feeling that fear, that anxiety, the crushing defeat of failure, getting frustrated or angry, contemplating quitting and giving up - this is the gameplay loop of human life. If we want to achieve our goals we have to keep on trying. The people who are successful in this world, they decided to try, i'm sure they failed, but they didn't give up and go home. If you love this game, or if you love anything, you gotta keep doing it and getting better.

It's normal content, press your buttons and open your eyes, it's really that simple.
Dungeons and Normal trials have actually been fun to do in this expansion, not Extreme level obviously (they shouldn't be), but fun compared to most normal content of previous expansions.

You people that refuse to press your buttons and engage with the game need to get use to the basic video game concept of dying being a part of learning, and to be perfectly honest, you can survive eating most mechanics because very few kill you outright.

I don't understand how you can get so far into the game and be upset at this level of difficulty, it's nonsensical.

The first raid doesn't even ask anything of you other than to move left and right, but clearly such complicated concepts have overly taxed your limited faculties.

I'll say it again. Pay attention to the cast bar of the boss. There's plenty of time to react to everything. If you're waiting for yellow markers to appear, obviously you'll take the hit. You have 3 to 8 seconds to react depending on the mech.

In fact : bosses are just reusing old markers besides a few (like R1) from past raids or trials.

I do not understand why you would complain about this, I have heard a lot of people saying their passion for fights have been revitalized me included, the fights so far have been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I hope the devs continue on this path. Not just this, you should keep in mind this IS OPTIONAL content of course its going to be harder (its not even hard imo, I got my clears without 1 wipe except the platforms on m4)

Weird angle but I don't agree with either side here. I'm both okay with the difficulty of these raids and also don't think there's been any escalation in difficulty from EW. Like, I ran all of these repeatedly today and none of them seem as prone to wiping groups as the sea horse or the bird on launch back in the day.

I'm a very casual player, I mostly craft, but I still do raids and other dungeons, I don't think the content has become difficult, it's even become interesting.
Sorry for bad english, this is google translate.

I registered an account just to reply you.

First of all, I'm a player that came back to FF14 at around 6.1, I've never really done anything starting day 1 from new expansions. The first time I ever played FF14 was when 4.1 or 4.2 came out, and I only played for like a few months at the time.
Much has changed from then to now of course.

So as someone who's never really experienced day 1 min IL runs, I have absolutely no problem with the new NR. I find it very interesting and fun to play, and they are not hard to understand.

This is not about how long you've played the game, but whether you've paid attention and actually understand how the mechs in the earlier content worked. If you are familiar with how the mechs worked before, the NR should not be any difficulty for you.

It is not about reaction time, I probably play on 300+ ping because I'm not in NA, and I still don't have a problem with dodging the mechs.
I am not a hardcore player, the first time I've ever done savage is P12S with echo, and I got carried by 7 people I knew. (still didn't finish it btw)

The mechs in the new NR are just, repeated mechs, except they add 2 mechs together, they have done this in SHB and EW NR as well.

Getting a few wipes during first time tries is absolutely NORMAL. It's ok if you don't do it right one the first few tries. UNDERSTANDING how a mech works is different from KNOWING.

If you have a hard time figuring out the mechs while DPSing, you can stop attacking and focus more on the mechs first before getting any more damage out.
I won't tell you how to play the game, but understanding basic mechs and how they work IS part of the game, or else why bother playing a raid when it's main point is about the fights?
