However, all these "skill issue" and angry replies are really disappointing - I mean, there are a few 'it's okay to struggle' comments here and there but otherwise quite a few of the replies are overly aggressive and derogatory (toward the OP) and there is just no need for that. And that's a damn shame, because I don't think we should be creating this idea that it's NOT okay to say "I don't find this easy". Granted, the way the OP presented the post might have aggravated the situation by, basically, calling for a nerf (which some clearly took a high degree of offense to) - but nonetheless, I don't think there was any need for the numerous, sometimes insulting, "skill issue" type replies that people felt the need to add to the already growing number.
I mean, what IS this mindset of "I find it easy, so you should too!" anyway?

As already said, I suck at the game and whilst I don't really completely stink at knowing my job rotations, I am way too slow learning mechanics - however, that's something that I need to deal with and not something the Devs should adapt to suit my (low) skill level.

But I still don't think we should be discouraging anyone from admitting that they don't find the game easy.
Aye don't take it too personally. A lot of these people have nothing better going on so being super good at a video game they hate play is their claim to fame. If people start coming at you in game (where it matters) just report them, otherwise just play at your own pace. You'll get it eventually and it's not like this game isn't all about replaying the same instances over and over.

So based on your 4 complaints, you want a fight with:
    -standard telegraphs
-No overlaps, only 1 mechanic at a time
-Happening even slower than they already are
-No running around, everything is easy to evade
So just, an orange area lights up on the floor and goes off 10 seconds later? That sounds fun to you? I think you are in the minority. I have had 0 issues doing these fights in the duty finder with random ppl, aside from wiping once or twice or having to heal a lot because people are failing mechanics (which, if anything, makes it more fun).

Don't think anyone is trying to dismiss if you find the game hard. People are mostly done with attitudes like OP that made the game a snoozefest the past two expacs. It's fine if the content is hard for you but don't complain wanting the devs to dumb it down yet again. Just pull again and learn, however long that takes.

    HAHAHAHAH.
Have you tried playing other games?

Jokes aside that sounds frankly like a skill issue to me which can be alleviated if you want to learn how to play and not snoozefest in duties. The expansion has been a blast combat-wise at least, its current state is healthy and pretty representative of what it should be. Next.

The content isn't difficult, it's engaging. There's a massive difference between the two. Anybody who engages in all the content could tell you that the normal raids aren't 'hard', they just require a small amount of effort on your part to learn the mechanics. Not nearly as much as an ex trial or a savage raid, but enough to keep it engaging. It's also worth considering that normal raids are not required content, they are optional.

The reason you're getting so many annoyed responses is because FFXIV has lacked any sort of engagement in its dungeons and normal raids right up until this point. We finally found what I would consider the goldilocks difficulty where dungeons and raids are engaging without being 'difficult', and suddenly people are coming out and whining about it. I really don't mean this to be insulting, but this is genuinely just a get good moment. Spend some time learning the fights and you'll find out they're not really that difficult.

it's level 100 optional content. 100 levels to learn to play around and react to mechanics. god forbid things aren't a faceroll you can do on the side while watching netflix - god forbid a game makes you fail before you succeed and challenges you. in optional(!) content. lol

    Interesting.

I agree with all the mechanics OP lists being individually used a lot. And that is exactly why I like the new normal raids so much: They genuinely feel difficult.

Which is cool. If you're not an "organized raider", you should still have easier (dungeons) and tougher (normal raids) content. This being the most difficult content for non-organized raiders, it makes sense they're far far less forgiving than dungeons or EX would be, and they deliver. At the same time however they always have a lot of time going from one mechanic to the next, which allows the raid to re-rezz and re-heal, plus making a mistake does not usualy kill you right away like in past raids, instead you get that bleed the healers have to heal through.

It's a neat balance. It's more difficult than past normal raids, but it also feels great as the "capstone" content for a non-organized raider.

I'd also further include many making the separation of content that is "not for" someone. The only degree of difference in anyone's journey is the time/effort to do it. For some EX is too steep, for others the range varies further along.

Everyone is at different steps of the journey. Nothing in this game is beyond the reach of anyone willing to try.

I do applaud Square for cranking things up just a bit. People who are struggling will eventually acclimate and the standard of the gameplay will improve along with them.
Reminds me of how dungeons felt back in the day. (keep in mind our collective knowledge, skills/spells and how hard things hit were all different) I remember watching MTQcapture and Mr. Happy videos for every dungeon and trial.

Mean spirited nature of some comments aside we are at level 100 now. It is surprising to see many people fail or eat several mechanics they should already have a working knowledge of... but I digress I think this change is good, because we're finally asking a bit more of the players and without a doubt they will rise to the occasion. I'm fine with people complaining during the growing pains. It'll work out

    Yeah - completely agree.

I guess I could've condensed my previous post into "it's not so much what you say as it is how you say it" really :P
