They don't have an answer for this that won't make them look and sound like a total hypocrite. They had a solution to the left right mechanics by saying it out loud yet they complained about, and they like the math boss. They have a solution on how to do it, might just do the problem in their head, but thinks because they can do that it's somehow different and more difficult of a mech so have to say it out loud. Is essentially what I gather from their posts.

I would reply that there is only 1 math boss (so far), so adding another one would make it 2. On the other hand, bosses requiring running around to resolve mechs are added by dozen every major patch. So, the numbers are clearly skewed in one direction

But that is besides the point. There are many other way to make a more complex fights. You can have adds, you can have interrupts, you can have cleaves, target changes, etc. (I was amazed when we got an add phase in the first DT dungeon, because I couldn't even remember the last time we got one). But somehow, neither of these appear in modern raids, despite being present in ARR and HW several times. Only "stand and let resolve" matters now.

Well, I don't know what to say. I don't get why having to remember a combination of 5 "left"s and "right"s is a more fun mechanics rather than, I don't know, kill adds while placing them properly or interrupt the boss.

You're right there are other ways too, to change the pace, this time they went with that one. That being said, I'm pretty sure Eden normal raids had adds. Not sure of EW as I barely participated in it. Bad storywroting really grated me there. In any case adds tend to either be meaningless, or if actually meaningful require coordination between tanks, which is often left to be a purview of savage, ironically much for the reasons people here are against, the normals are attempted to be made easy enough for people to pass with minimal communication need.

As for your latter point, you don't get why the memory game is more fun than some other way to solve things. I actually found it rather to my liking. Memorising things kike that is what I consider fun. You like the math boss and I'm sure you know some people loathe it. Not everything can please everyone. This time we got this set of mechanics. That's just how it is.

If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.

If you don't like the majority of the content of the game, why do you even play it ? and why do you ask for it to be changed or include things in it when you don't like the majority of it anyways ?
Even math boss has these standard telegraphs if I remember well.
Sounds like this game is not for you, and that's okay. I'm saying this seriously and I have no mean intentions lol.
Like, this sentence is litterally "I don't like 99.9% of the fight mechanics in a game centered around combat". I don't play games I don't like. I don't know why anyone would want to suffer that.
Not to mention you're grossly off topic, you're not complaining about difficulty, you're complaining about not liking FFXIV's mechanics.
insert "why are we still here" meme

(Edit: They tried to shake up mechanics with the honey b fight, it's really creative and unique, everybody loves honey b, but when you ask them about the fight, it's another story entirely,
one of the complaints about the raid's difficulty is litterally use and abuse of non-standard telegraphs,
meanwhile, greatest serpent of tural crying in a corner because ignored with its unique puzzle that requires you to solve something akin to a logic problem,
haven't seen a single person comment that they like the mechanic, and it just confuses everyone at first. He so cute too ;o; poor boi)

I completely understand why someone would be upset about difficulty scaling past what they can handle or enjoy; the mild increase in difficulty feels perfect to me personally, but I'd be frustrated if difficulty suddenly skyrocketed to Dark Souls levels in casual content because that wouldn't be enjoyable to me.

I don't understand where the complaint about non-standard telegraphs comes from, though. Non-standard telegraphs have been the standard for a long time.

It's not that unique, I pulled Storm's Crown from the roulette last night and it has the same mechanic, I wouldn't be surprised if some savage player could pull an even earlier example.
