Difficulty of normal content.

Reddit has already raided the Dungeons forum with about 30 threads after someone posted on /r/ffxiv. People will still post in this one because they need to defend their honor against OP, who is (apparently) threatening to steal FFXIV from everyone else. People feel very insecure about "losing" FFXIV because it's so difficult to get the devs to do the right thing.

Oh I agree with SE taking a while to do the right thing. It took them what, 6 years to un-lobotomize the battle content despite constant outcry and dwindling population? I can actually understand the insecurity because if it gets reverted, for many people, it would be the final nail in the coffin.

After having watched the game decay in ways that I care about for about this long, it feels like square enix is making things right, to reverse this in such a short amount of time, yes, it would be.
I have had discussion with a few discord friends right before DT came out, was something along the lines of "I feel left behind by the game, the content that used to be made for me doesn't feel like it is anymore, and everything above feels like too much of a commitment for me", I really felt stuck between two brackets of content and nothing felt made for me anymore. It does now, or at least it feels like a very big step in the right direction, and I look forward to the future now. Haven't felt excited for content outside of story in a while.

Did I say anything about the trials being "too difficult"? No, I have actively defended the design decisions. I have only criticized two things:
1) the netcode
2) the community's attitude towards OP, which often crosses the line as you can see in this thread

Damn right people are gonna feel insecure about it. Regular content is finally fun again and you have people like OP who can't find find the courage deep in their soul to conquer the fear of pressing a couple buttons and want to get the dev's attention so it can be reverted all back to sleep mode endwalker difficulty. I don't blame a single person for throwing it right back at OP given the history of the game. Hypercasuals have gotten catered to enough.

So I mentioned before how content that hard molds u into a better fighter....forums like this tells me ain and simple....you dont know how to play and refuse to learn. In dawn trail did u know you dont really need to switch gear. Ilvl660 endwalker tome melded / p10s-p12s gea will hold you. You don't need reset your gear until lvl 97 and even thats a big iffy. Did many of you know arms length doubles as a kb immunity and slow cause I seen some of you maybe in my runs not even use that. Ppl so quick to wanna dumb the game down. Do us all a favor learn your roles for god sake. If your playing healer get better, if your tanking get better, dps....keep dpsing. Allot takes on this thread for a lack of words are dog doo doo and sounds like a bunch of entitled ppl who refuse to learn to play...to the ppl trying to call these brain rots out im sorry you have to go through this. The devs made game harder, now you want game easier make up your minds jeeez I would be scared to have my life in some of your hands.....

that's great and all but are you a mod? no?? then please stop pretending to be one. several posts have been removed for either breaking TOS by actual mods or from users themselves. you aren't our boss so why should we listen to you?

If you put as much effort in to improving and trying to be better as you have put so far creating wild conspiracy theories and researching the ToS then you wouldn't be having any issues. Clearly time isn't a problem for you, because you keep spending a bunch of time and effort into belaboring this point. Why do you not put that same effort into being better? I can't imagine it is fun to be struggling this much, surely if anyone stands to benefit from putting that time in it is you. It isn't a lot. People have been offering a ton of constructive criticism and people have even made new threads to offer some fundamental advice that may help resolve things.

At this point, it just feels like you want to be upset. I really think you need to consider taking a step back from the topic for a day or two, because you genuinely seem to be spiralling a bit. You have every right to be heard, just as we have every right to disagree, but right now, it genuinely feels like this is being unhealthy for you. I mean this in complete sincerity. I am not trying to make some kind of backhanded insult or anything like that. I can tell you are on edge, so I just wanted to make that clear.

The content is optional in the same way the whole expansion is optional. People bought the expansion expecting to engage with the endgame. People hitting DT level cap are players who are current with the game. Suggesting players who stay current aren't interested in endgame is not realistic.

I can't prove that but I shouldn't need to. Saying "A game for everyone is a game for no one" doesn't make sense. When I say everyone I'm talking about fans of FFXIV not "everyone in the world" and that should have been obvious.

Edit: found your lodestone, sorry but this character isent even at max level and it looks like your in SB, either your completely new so you have no idea what your talking about or not wanting to post using your full account. i dont mean to sound like im attacking, but from what i see of your posts you have no clue how this game works. its not like WOW where getting to max level is the whole point of the game so you can do endgame stuff. its an RPG first and a MMO second.

Are you replying to the wrong person? Nothing you said has anything in relation to that quote. As if it does, you've skipped so many rhetorical steps that I'm failing to see how your points are connected. Also that post was predominantly talking about one specific person that presumably isn't you, unless you accidentally are on your alt or something.
