Did I say anything about the trials being "too difficult"? No, I have actively defended the design decisions. I have only criticized two things:
1) the netcode
2) the community's attitude towards OP, which often crosses the line as you can see in this thread

Reddit has already raided the Dungeons forum with about 30 threads after someone posted on /r/ffxiv. People will still post in this one because they need to defend their honor against OP, who is (apparently) threatening to steal FFXIV from everyone else. People feel very insecure about "losing" FFXIV because it's so difficult to get the devs to do the right thing.
