Edit: For anyone wondering about the amount of pages of replies, when this thread was around page 11 the streamer Arthars covered it live, twitted about it and then uploaded it to YT. Later I found out that Mr.Happy also made a video and a link of this thread was shared on 4chan. What you are seeing are two popular streamers mobilizing their followers (accidentally or otherwise) to dogpile me and anyone siding with me (plus 4chan trolls for good measure).
While I understand that some of my opinions in this and my other posts in this thread can be interpreted as hyperbole I stand by them. My position is unchanged.

No one "mobilized" anyone, dude had a bad take, streamers covered it, people agreed that it's a bad take.

Dude pretends to speak for us, we say no, you don't speak for us.
Dude then proceeds to exclude us from "casual" and assign bad intentions to us instead of just understanding that maybe people don't see this the same way he does.
Let's not forget that this dude thinks his only alternative to not doing it is to die and leech from you all for the whole fights. I think it's pretty representative of his attitude in general.
Despite so many people telling him that they disagree, he persists and strawmans us instead of accepting that maybe he posted an opinion that the majority disagrees with.
Maybe streamers covered the take precisely because a majority would disagree and it's an abysmal take.
No one is here to pass Arthras' judgement, we are here to say our opinion. I'm sorry that understanding that others might have a differing opinion is beyond you OP, but this is getting delusional.
I'm sorry that you can't understand that even if we watch a streamer (most of us don't even rofl), we can think for ourselves. You and the people that agree with you aren't the only ones that have takes and opinions.
Man, this is getting ridiculous, the denial is strong with this one, he will distort ANYTHING to avoid saying he made a mistake and maybe he has it wrong.
Everyone loves a good redemption arc, just saying "I didn't know people actually liked this so much", because we do, and apologizing seems like the right thing to do.

This is like saying that people who watch the news are diligent soldiers of news broadcasters and they are all a hive mind mobilized by news anchors.
Most of us who listen to the news do so for information precisely to make our own opinions about events.

And then people in the thread accusing us of not wanting a discussion. Does that edit look like OP wants one ? Why does op get preferential treatment ? Because "bad feels because op is getting a lot of backlash" ?
I don't know man, I thought freedom of expression was about opining things like this and letting the best opinions rise to the top and the bad ones sink.
The funny thing is that if this dude was the one to clear normal raids effortlessly, he'd be one of the most vitriolic people to dunk on a person that would post this. Clearly he does not care about anyone else, and only his experience matters to him.

I don't play extremes or savage when they come out. I go back and do them later one when item level or the ability to unsync them makes them a bit easier because I'm very casual when it comes to battle content. Brutally hardcare about gposing (in a former FC other members had an argument about whether I spend 90% of my game time gposing, or whether it was nearer 95%. I only saw this afterwards- I was too busy gposing) So, that's my perspective.

I think these raids are fine. These expert dungeons are fine. Difficulty wise- I've had a lot of fun playing them and I'm looking forward to playing them again. The tricks have been harder to learn than what we saw in Endwalker, but they are still just tricks. Once you know the trick, it becomes easier.

Deslyxic, I'm not going to tell you "git gud", nor am I going to say your opinion is invalid. You feel the way you feel and people telling you that you're wrong isn't going to help. I think you can learn these fights and maybe even learn to love them if you keep trying, after all if "spends 95% of their game time in gpose" can figure it out, anyone can. You just need to keep trying and not give up. If you're worried about going back into these fights next week, then find a guide on Youtube and watch that first. If you have difficulty during the fights, it's ok to ask people for any tips or hints they might have to do mechanics better. You posted this thread when this content was new and people don't have great gear for it. It will all get easier in time, all you have to do is not give up. As long as you keep trying the many good people out there you're being matched with in duty finder will be there to help you. It's what we're here for.

We tried that, he does not want to hear that.
Afaik, he actively put down speech like that in one of his earlier replies.
He wants his way or it's the highway.
Comments on videos that were posted on the topic recount experiences in game with him that align with this perspective.
Everything that is not square enix saying "okay, we'll make the raids easier" is not satisfactory for him. He thinks he holds the supreme opinion, and he thinks you are wrong too.
Most of us agree profoundly with that statement tho. I know I do.
Like, I want him to succeed, that'd prove him wrong, and that would make him more confident in his capabilities, and maybe he wouldn't feel this post is necessary anymore.

There is one dungeon that I believe the final boss could use an adjustment. Not because the mechanics are too hard, they're really pretty standard imho. But the camera angle on the final boss of the third dungeon (I don't want to say the name because of spoilers) makes it nearly impossible to see the indicators. Usually by the time I get my camera adjusted enough to see it it's too late to know what's coming first. Maybe make the indicators light up all the way down it's body or something.

It was the heroic dungeons that were considered too hard, which I agree was a bit overtune at the time. Normal mode was fine. Also the tuning of the classes at that time was terrible (looking at you 4.0 ret paladin) which didn't help.
After a while normal mode was facerolling and heroic dungeons became that too thanks to the nerfs (way overboard imo). People got better gear, everything was easier (unless... BREAK YOURSELF UPON MY BODY shenanigans).

WoW (raid) normal mode today is probably harder for first timers than FFXIV, given of how the games are designed.

I'm pretty sure people like OP just want a LFR type of thing, with 1 to 2 mechanics on bosses and be done with it. In/out/spread mechs. Endwalker basically.

I don't feel like SE made a mistake here, I feel we're witnessing a kneejerk from a few individuals in a community of 26+ million players.
If anything, SE learned from their past mistakes and they're course correcting.

I think Square Enix expected that. As far as I can tell, even Yoshi P mentioned he was getting sleepy in EW content, so this direction is what the team wants and feels is best for the game.
They've been saying for a long time that they want to reintroduce tension in the gameplay. No matter what they do, there will always be people left behind.

Many mistakes were made with the launch of Cata.
