And nearly every review states to the effect: the content is great and the difficulty increase was much needed, but we didn't like the story. So, you know, it would be reviewed far worse if OP got his way.

Personally the normal content is so F'n easy that I have a hard time staying engaged half the time. You can get hit by everything and not die. Even if you do die the only punishment is a 60 second debuff......oh god no! I've quit the game multiple times because it's so braindead I'm constantly trying to play other games while sleeping my way through this content. There is no REAL stress at all in normal content. The tank can 1v1 the boss 90% of the time.
You posted on a public forum that the content is too hard and the game should be easier. A commonly talked about topic. You are going to get responses and most of them will be the opposite. Because factually the normal content is too easy. If you want to play a game that you can turn your brain off and still win....this is it lol. If you need it to be easier then....i dunno lol.
The reality is nothing anyone says in here matters. It's your opinion that you defending to an absurd degree. You clearly have no intention whatsoever to have an honest discussion. You're lying to yourself and everyone in the FF14 community.

It's just clear we want different experinces, some of the fights you mentioned i really enjoyed. (for example I did like pre-nerf TG cid because we actually had to mechanics instead of hit a target dummy), though there have been some misses (e6s was certainly a pain, even the normal version).
Someone in your party must have been logging, but the records show you actually aren't terrible, it's like... idk... you find figuring out new mechancis stressful and that bothers you, where as players like myself find it exciting. It's the easy content that bothers me (think Cyrcus Tower) because i can just 1-2-3 and turn my brain off. I'd much rather take a nap.
I'm just trying to empathize better. I literally have no idea what it's like to be a person that doesn't like learning new, challanging things. Learning new stuff is probably the reason i choose to keep on living - there's just always these questions in the world.
I think though it will be like spicy food, the more you eat, the more you want, and the higher your baseline is. If you keep playing, these things will eventually not seem hard at all.
Of COURSE it was casual difficulty. I passed it on the very same day they popped (and with just a few tries on the third one). That's how casual content works. Anything further than that requires practice and refinement (like Extremes and, to a further degree, Savages and Ultimates).
Are we SERIOUSLY reaching the point in which people complain about CASUAL CONTENT? First dungeon content, now this? Do you really want every single encounter to be facerollingly easy like Shadowbringers and Endwalker? I'm convinced you would've cried blood in Heavensward and any alliance raid pre-nerf (like Mhach's Ozma or Orbonne's Cid).
I'm a 40+ years old, VERY casual player. If you can react to a street light changing from green to red, you will be able to do these just fine as well. Just PRACTICE your job, LEARN the visual queues you should've learned already (you're level 100, after all) and stop complaining because you didn't pass something without dying or wiping a few times.

How about you give me some examples of other games that you play, and if you ever have similar issues, or even some dungeons and mechanics from earlier content that you consider to be easier. Im sure this isn't just about expert dungeon boss 1 and M2. Itd be better to know what exactly is considered easy to difficult in your opinion in these fights. Like what was unclear in valigarmanda, what was unclear in the solo instances etc.I wanted to wait to see the raid tier before I say anything. There are already post about dungeon and trial difficulty, and now normal raids should be thrown into the discussion too, and I might repeat points already said but I think we should really make a point of this, we (the people not ok with this difficulty) need for the devs to hear it to hopefully make a course correction.
The problem with the difficulty on normal fights as I see it is:
-Use and abuse of non standard telegraphs.
-Nasty mechanic overlaps, stuff you would see on extreme and harder fights.
-Mechs resolving too quickly for the mental capacity they demand to process.
-One too many "catch this!" mech (mechs that have you running around like headless chicken evading seemingly random patterns).
All this has been making fights in this expansion frustrating and exhausting.
I honestly cannot believe we are playing the same game, to me this sounds like a "you" problem.
Some telegraphs were not the usual ones like the one on the first fight but it gives you plenty of time to figure it out, and even if you don't it doesn't really matter, you'll figure it out the next time you have to do the mechanic.
There's a lot of mechanic overlaps in older dungeons, normal and alliance raids so I don't know why you expected the mechanics to be like a new ARR dungeon.
If you cannot resolve a mechanic quickly enough you can (almost) always follow someone else or try to figure out a way to survive the mechanic while you are dead. I'm guessing you're referring to the tile mechanic from the first fight.
I hate mechanics with random patterns like evading the hearts on the second encounter because my lowest ping is 129.99ms and I'll probably get hit by something that didn't hit me visually, but other than that it's just a dodge mechanic... You can always stop doing whatever you're doing and focus only on dodging, at least on normal raids.
I'm not a mega hardcore player but I play the game mainly for the savage/extreme, crafting and sometimes ultimate content. All I can say is that this normal raid tier is not difficult, it just makes you think a little bit more which is awesome for the people that actually like this content and the potential this tier has for savage mechanics is amazing.
To me it just feels like you're just bad at the game and you expect every single casual player to think like you and the devs to "fix" the game because you lack the skills to complete a normal raid tier so it must be their fault for making it "too difficult".
You are either extremely dense or a dedicated troll, find more productive stuff to do.
First off... I had enough of people like you crying about FFXIV being to hard; when its not remotely what it was before or any of its predecessor franchise. FF14 it's been dumbdown SO MUCH and mostly mashed to a pulp of what actually was for casual players to enjoy it.
STAWP IT! You do not only cry for the accurate reasons what actually bothers you the most; just complaining at facts at random.
"Abusive Telegraphs?" weren't even implemented till way later. They do not abuse anything, the monster tells you with its castbar or even wind-up animations stances to PRE-TELL YOU. WHAT TO DO! Its a fight not a picnic...
"Nasty mechanic overlaps?!" Sorry if you didn't knew basic shapes at school, but thats what they are mostly are dear.
"Mechs with no time?" THE ENEMY ALWAYS SHOWS YOU IN ADVANCE! WDYM?!
"Catch this! Mechanics?" If you can't stop for a single second and look at your surroundings... well LET ME TELL YA. Don't ever get out of your house... Life is way more chaotic than a dumb phase mechanic.
Not only you just called everyone in the West DUMB and went FULL RACIST on Japanese people. But won't you just think for a minute. "Oh HEY I dont own the mental capacity for this? WHY PLAY IT?!
I've being on the end of Heavensward meeting Stormblood. Did you ever played before all the nerfs? Before all the actual difficult dungeons back then? When the dungeons where actually a mess? or even HAVE YOU EVEN PLAYED? for starters... Cuz sounds to me you not only have skip the story one to many times... but haven't played AT ALL to get to LVL 100. Sounds to me like a 25$ Tantrum...
Difficulty does not only HELP the game developers have time and keep expanding this great world; but because this gives the incentive to grow and keep the player base doing stuff. "Poverty or silver spoons" dont have to do a thing with "Skill problems" We play cuz we want we play; cuz we can all around the world.
For people like you it's why the game is getting dull and holds no surprises like before... It sickens me that for a couple of you cry babies, I fear the game gets dumb down to another "Auto clicking game" or worst tap game at some point...
For I reply for me and all the people that actually ENJOY THE GAME, whom LIVE DIE AND KNOW.
BECOME AN ACTUAL WARRIOR OF LIGHT!![]()
Who tore you apart lol.
