850 posts in this thread and 30 other threads. All from a single post from a single person. OP is the most powerful person in the FFXIV community right now and has you all in a vicegrip.

One (more) note: a lot of you use the standard-issue "you should know the game by level 100 and 300 hours of play time" cope. And that's true! But what of the rest of the game? Are you seriously suggesting that Final Fantasy XIV is a good game while also requiring every player to trudge through 300 hours and 100 levels of absolute boredom? The entire game is single player until level 100. Final Fantasy XIV will experience a terminal decline in player count. While obviously this is the developers' fault, your new standard-issue cope is also at fault because you aren't even giving people the option of using a skip. Final Fantasy XIV can no longer be called a good game for the vast majority of gamers and I would never recommend a new player start now.

If people want to skip, idc. I main red mage. raising people through content is already what I do anyway.
I don't necessarily disagree that it's getting increasingly more difficult for people to get into the game but pushing this onto the playerbase because players who've been playing for thousands of hours wanted to get out of the tutorial level is probably the most massive cope of all time.

As long as the standard dev expectation isn't to skip to Dawntrail, this is fine. Hell, even with it being the expectation, it'd be fine in terms of dungeon difficulty; The dungeons ramp up difficulty quite nicely. Bigger problem is the absurd gameplay drought between dungeons because gotta speak to wuk lamat again.

I just came out of doing Aitiascope and I could literally stand still on the Amon boss without dying as a dps, getting hit by several things. I'm not playing Disney's Dreamlight Valley over here; I want to be engaged and feel the need to move around and such, thanks.

I would like to add my voice to those who disagree with OP and like the difficulty of the dungeons, trials, and raids and hope they keep this up as they said they would throughout this expansion and the future.

New players can do just fine. If they obviously want to learn and put a good attitude for it, unlike OP has shown in his reactions again and again and again. People can also skip, which isn't forbidden. If I have to talk from experience from 2 friends doing it, they do learn just fine by themselves, sometimes they get hit by something new, they're just like "Oh, that's how it works" and then proceed to do fine. Every game has a learning curve, if you don't want to take a bit of time to do like EVERYONE in this game did, then... your attitude isn't suited for a MMORPG.

I guess I'll just recommend the game to more people just to balance things out.

FFXIV already experienced a decline in player count during 6.1-6.5.

Game has been stall for years, gained popularity thanks to WoW decline (Jailer planned it btw) and streamers.

They need to renew their formula and take risks to keep the game interesting.
