For me the dungeons right now, are very good and engaging with new mechanics that most are not seen before, that make us be focused on the mechanics and not see a movie at the second screen we are so used to do, but keep our eyes at the game.

I love now how devs have done it so far, with practice and checking the mechanics that make them you die, after can be solved and done practicaly easy knowing the way.

    Cheers!

I just want to add my voice to this conversation that the problem is not the game's fight design, or job design, or netcode. The expectations are reasonable and the designs are fit for purpose. The only real problem here is that some players have wrong expectations about the game, and the only blame that one could give to Square Enix is that the game's normal mode content was too easy in previous expansions, which could have contributed to these wrong expectations.

The fight design in Dawntrail is great. There is a huge silent group of players having a blast enjoying the improved content in Dawntrail and not posting on these forums because they have no complaints. I hope that FFXIV's development and design teams continue on their current course and keep making fun, challenging, exciting content. The story is about adventure and overcoming challenges through persistence and cooperation; the content should fit! It should make the player struggle and think a little bit! Please more content like the beginning of Dawntrail!

I've said it to someone else before: "I'm not in a position to tell someone if their feeling is right or wrong." But, and i have to add this here,i also see that the complaints come in very quickly, and yes, it hasn't even been a week.

i have the least patience with myself and am very quick to blame myself. For me, it's never the game's fault. But i can imagine some players even feeling left out because they don't know how to approach this new challenge. They go to the forum and they're told to just get better and not be so whiny because the content isn't that hard.

i think both sides need to calm down and more patience would be a good thing too.
Are they really completely unfounded? Can you speak for every single player?

I think you turbo casuals should just deal with getting carried through the content once, and go back to treating your favorite mmorpg game like habbo hotel. This is not the game's problem, since this is how normal content should be in the first place. This is purely a you problem where you're too stubborn to learn the mechanics, nor are you ever willing to pull your own weight a bit. And when the game finally doesn't cater towards your selfish request of braindead easy content, you resort to whining on the FFXIV forums.

What is wrong with wiping? Especially on normal raid content. You wipe, you start from the start, and then you just learn and grow along with your party members. Oh! But you're selfish to learn and it's either your way or the highway. It is one of the worst mindsets to have. It's a video game, and the satisfaction comes from overcoming obstacles that were difficulty the first time. Just let the huge majority of players have their fun, let them carry you, and just don't touch the current content again. If you wanna level your alt jobs up, just do FATEs. Do your gatherers and crafters.

There are plenty of things you can do in FFXIV, so I don't understand how difficulty of current content is such a huge deal for players like you.

going back to the boring bosses is not cool either, but fun & engaging doesn't mean it has to be harder..., INSTEAD bring fresh ideas for mechanics & grafix displays (like the tank buster in Ex1, think its called mountain buster, its not hard to stack in a line and move asap left / mid / right, depending on the boses postion, but its fun / engaging, or the big sword attack from Sudano, just add sime more flair to it etc.). so the casuals are not pushed to hard and we feel still feel engaged

Yes, but that's kinda like cutting off legs so you don't have to put on your shoes in the morning: "a tad" extreme.
Alliance raids are amazing the first few times, but once they are used as a XP source, then the disparity between them becomes apparent.

I think that Ivalice and Nier raids simply need a slight HP adjustment and people will complain a lot less. In fact, Aglaia & co. don't suffer from the same HP bloat.

That's a question you should ask YoshiP. When you are synced down in Timewalking WoW (and GW2) you still have all your buttons and can still use them.

That is also a question you should ask YoshiP: why did he design an MMORPG in which is there so little to do in terms of character development. (and no, mounts and pets aren't that )

the game needs to have doable / non stressd content for the less skilled / less capable / handicapped / etc. players too.., they should be "easy" but not boring (gawd, like the beast tribe quests, they could use more fun / engaging content too.., boring AF AND easy AF..)

    see entiled player here:
"you need to learn the mechs (you lazy f...) you need to stop being carried by other (you gifting f...), otherwise dont do dungeons, normal raids & ex trials, just AFK in limsa with the crafters only"
    ...
some players are just not as good, incapable to learn it (time restraints, living / distraction restraints, brain or psychological restraints, etc. etc.), not saying content has to remains boring AF, but mechanical difficulty is not the only solution

What a perfect way to disregard any critisism you got before the streamer coverage. No one mobilized anyone against you. It's just that your take falls flat from the first bulletpoint, and your attitude of entitlement in your replies is unhinged.
While you can take most of replies there with a grain of salt, you got replies from casual, midcore and hardcore players alike, and yet you can't read any of the opinions that are different from yours.
You now try to run away from the subject, making yourself a victim of "le 4chan trollges", while the issue at hand is that you went into new content, got bent, didn't try to understand it and went to complain on the forums. The solution is simple: open your eyes, wipe, try again, and, not even "get good", just try to better yourself. That's all there is to it, and I implore you to just try again and complete these raids, and if it falls flat, find another type of content you'll enjoy or just simply find a new game to enjoy.

No, you state this in order to shut down criticism of your position.

We are in week one of a new raid tier, of optional content.

Normal raids are supposed to be a slight challenge when you first encounter them, they are a difficulty step above Alliance Raids. There are always going to be newly introduced mechanics each expansion which people need to learn in order to survive, otherwise its a dance simulator not an MMO raid which carries some risk of dying regardless of difficulty.

I died 7-8 times on Black Cat, but the next time I died once maybe twice because I learnt the encounter from past experience.

It is frankly ridiculous that you or anyone expect a wipe-free run when first encountering a new raid tier. Soak it up, take some deaths and actually learn the basic elements of these fights, because based on what you're saying this is your peak challenge in the game and you wont see anything presenting a challenge again until 7.1 and the Alliance Raid (which again will have new mechanics and challenges for you to overcome).

By week 3, I guarantee that you will be completing these raids with barely a death registered and feeling rather foolish for rushing to judgement here.

Enjoy your time, learn mechanics (even via guides if necessary) and actually achieve something.
