    At the beginning I found the mechanics in the dungeons/raids and trials more than just random. It was as if they were slapped onto the boss without thinking about it and left untouched.

    I hardly died because you understand the mechanics relatively quickly if you take a closer look at them.
    You start the game at level 1 and run through countless dungeons/raids and trials up to 100, so that you almost fall asleep in the HIGH LEVEL CONTANT, as the mechanics are repeated throughout and sometimes look visually different.

    I know! There are also players who still find it difficult, they can always seek help in the chat or group finder. There are enough other players who are happy to help if someone needs help, but don't call the content at MAXIMUM level (100!!!) “it's too hard” “I can't run around headless without dying” “crying noises”, because that's exactly what breaks the game. In Endwalker I was more than just frustrated because the content got easier and easier. FF14 is meant to get harder as you level up. That's how games are! If you want to play mindlessly, install Candy Crush.

    Junk like this is how you end up with easy content that people get bored doing in days time. The game is TEN YEARS OLD! If people need to be coddled, they should play the easier content; stick to gathering or something. Complaints like this stifle creativity and ingenuity. I can only pray the devs understand that you are a fraction of the player base and ignore things like this.

    You're better than that and i know you can improve.
    Ask players for help understanding a fight or mechanic. Look for video guides after taking a beating, study a little about your job/role. If you are K.O on the floor, pay attention to the mechs and what the players are doing while you wait for raise, etc.

    I completely agree with you and strongly believe Criterion/Savage/Ultimates are a testament to that. Even your best players failed those for hours/days at first when they progged it. No complaints there, just practically "Thank you Yoshi P".

    Story for the hardened player isn't challenging, but now makes sure that your brain is switched on, which is all we're after, "Alexandria" midbosses and final boss held that up perfectly.

    We already have our social rule of the "Danger Dorito" in content, which for normal content, is perfect for 9/10 of mechanics, we also still have white makes at Lv.100 proccing Freecures, that said, I'm surprised that even with Mitigation, that healer sure did pull their weight, but the Cure 1 was a burden for that.

    I've been responding here and there and while I do not agree with a lot of the comments from the OP I've also come to realise that so many of you are needlessly toxic, nasty and uncaring. This whole thread should be locked because it's become a series of unhinged elitist commentary, backhanded comments to the OP and sheer rudeness to anyone suggesting actual feedback on difficulty.

    I feel like I've been sent back 15 years to old message boards, shouldn't really be surprised. At this point this thread is a lost cause.

    I really don't see it. I do see a lot of people being blunt when it comes to shutting down unsubstantiated and patently false claims. I don't want to have my ability to not get bored to death in casual content be held hostage by a vocal minority of people who are extremely adamant that learning from mistakes is impossible. Even the devs admitted to falling asleep in their level cap content in Endwalker. There's a reason that despite the huge critical acclaim of Endwalker's MSQ the expansion has a reputation for being mediocre and lacklustre in terms of its content.

    The content has been such a huge step forward in Dawntrail. I hope everyone who is struggling now can rise to the occasion, can grow, improve, and feel the satisfaction of doing so. It would be an absolute shame if SE were to back pedal and take that opportunity away from us and make the game more like the tedium of EW just to please the whiny vocal minority. And if that makes me toxic to say it then sure, I'm toxic. I don't care.

    I am just puzzled how anyone can screw up enough to die multiple times on Honey B. The heart mechanic with all the crap puddles I can see a problem but rest of her mechanics are straight forward.

    I really do not like talking in forums, but I want Square Enix to see that I aprove of their difficulty raise.
    Now, I struggle with anxiety myself and causing a wipe doesn't feel great to me, but that doesn't mean that any boss should be a dummy so you wouldn't feel bad dying to it. Normal content still can be cleared within a few wipes and making it any easier will make mine and a lot of other people experience with a game worse.
    In my fc chat and discord I have never seen a person that would struggle too much with a curent normal content or be unhappy with difficulty of said content, but unfortunately most of those people wouldn't go to forums and their feelings will be invisible to SE.
    I do resepect feeling of those who struggle with normal content, we all want game to be fun for us. But that is why I don't want SE make a game less fun for me.

    First of all, You clearly don't even know about the difficulty from ARR to Heavensward. Almost killed the raiding scene on launch. My friend you are welcome to not do the content, but I know people who never raid outside of normal raids and trials. Never touched extremes or anything who can and have done this raid tier no issue and enjoyed it heavily. The game did spike in mechanics and things since Endwalker that was their plan. Alot of fights felt stagnant and too idential, most fights used the same mechanics and had a few slight changes. Dawntrail literally is overhauling how fights play out and you are literally asking them to return to past fights where everything felt the same and got boring fast. You are complaining over good things, they aren't even bad changes. Even with the new fights they are casual, Valigarmanda normal is not that bad, you're meant to fail, mess up and learn. That's literally their philosophy on combat. If you are thinking people need to be perfect as soon as you load in you need to swap games it really sounds like you want perfection out the gate
