Ok, here we are, page 61. I've spent a lot of my time on this thread now, which is probably my fault and i should leave well enough alone, but I do admit i like watching the carnage

We have to consider a few things:

1) One or more of the people in this thread is trolling in an attempt to bring out the worst, most toxic, most elitist people in our community. Git Gud is somewhat applicable but also an oversimplification.

2) Trying and failing is the definity of living. Things that require NO effort have NO meaning. It is literally why we play games at a basic level. I know FFXIV has many more elements than this, but overcoming struggles to be sucessful even if the path is full of suffering is the literal point of life. For all this discussion about endwalker content did anyone listen to its story?

3) That said, NOT trying is NOT ok. It is straight up disrespectful to your team. I'm not saying you can't multitask (I sometimes watch youtube or get a phone call in easy content), but ignoring the screen to watching netflix while hitting 1-2-3 and not dodging is just offensive. You do remember there are other people around, right?

In general, with a few exceptions, I'm totally ok if people make an effort, even if they are pretty terrible. I think we should be much more kind, forgiving, and patient towards sprouts, towards newer players, and in content that is either really old or really new. Failure is expected.

"In spite of...or perhaps because of this, I choose to believe.

In mankind's potential. In his ability to find a way forward.

So let there be no way back. From that temptation I sunder us.

No more shall man have wings to bear him to paradise.

Henceforth, he shall walk."

It's all there, the game is literally telling you what it thinks you should do. Perhaps we should listen.
