I mean honestly, Game Journos always finish the latest Fromsoft game in like 4 days and without a guide. So it's kind of funny to see people act like none of them can play video games to this day.No
It's people correcting your dogwater opinion. What do reviews from game journalists who have written their reviews BEFORE the raids released who have to rush all the content to review it on time have ANYTHING to do with the difficulty, as a matter of fact it stands against your point because unlike the op and several other people here, they actually managed to finish the mandatory MSQ dungeons to write this review on time. Think about it, you guys are being outpaced by game journalists, I did not think a lower point in gaming existed.
I do see journalists like that, but I also see journalists throwing the game down the bin because they slapped Varre and he slapped back in the way Elden Ring does. :P
(Yes, am aware this guy is a content creator, just wanted to keep the elden ring theme. We have a pristine example with cuphead that made the rounds.)
It is true that outlets that hold these kind of journalists have been cleaning up though, ragebait doesn't work as well as it used to. :P

i trust game journalists, i never played pokemon alpha sapphire, there truly is too much water for me to handle, please reduce the water quantity or i will leave and the game will dieI do see journalists like that, but I also see journalists throwing the game down the bin because they slapped Varre and he slapped back in the way Elden Ring does. :P

You do know they have access to the game long before we do, and they have discords and channels set up to help each other, right?
Like, obviously there are journos who are gonna be good, and journos who are gonna be bad. Not every game is for everyone and that includes journos.
Yet the consensus in the reviews is: FFXIV Dawntrail Content is good, which is the core take away for the person who originally brought up the low scores for Dawntrail like some le epic own against the difficulty of the game.
you are right, your post is hyperbole, the games normal content is not hard, it might be a small step up from what we had, but its not "too hard"I wanted to wait to see the raid tier before I say anything. There are already post about dungeon and trial difficulty, and now normal raids should be thrown into the discussion too, and I might repeat points already said but I think we should really make a point of this, we (the people not ok with this difficulty) need for the devs to hear it to hopefully make a course correction.
The problem with the difficulty on normal fights as I see it is:
-Use and abuse of non standard telegraphs.
-Nasty mechanic overlaps, stuff you would see on extreme and harder fights.
-Mechs resolving too quickly for the mental capacity they demand to process.
-One too many "catch this!" mech (mechs that have you running around like headless chicken evading seemingly random patterns).
All this has been making fights in this expansion frustrating and exhausting.
The Honey B fight had me wishing for the healer to not raise me, I was there in the floor, dead for the Nth time, thinking that I don't really want to be on that duty.
And it's not an issue of learning the fight, because that I can do, but we don't do this content alone, you know? I think it was the 4th time I was doing Valigarmanda when I finally managed to finish without dying myself, but that's a moot point when half the party was dead half of the time, even knowing the fight doesn't make it any less of a disheartening experience.
And yes, this concerns normal raids too even if they are optional content. In fact I gonna take the skip option for this raid tier, something I haven't done since I started playing in SB. And that's the point really, for the most part in the past 3 expansions difficulty for normal content was fair outside of some hiccup here and there.
I firmly believe that content meant to be done via the duty finder (where you don't choose who you playing with) shouldn't be this level of punishing. And I know that JP people do savage in the duty finder but we don't do that in NA or EU, for better or worse western players doesn't behave like JP players.
Finally I think that people that thrive with difficulty (the ones that demand harder content) already have extremes, savages, ultimate, criterion dungeons, and more (Yoshi-p is even touting of savage alliances), this people is eating really, really good. Do they need to take normal content too? Can casual players have something easy-ish to play? Please?
Yoshi said content was going to get harder. Come on we are in the 5th expansion, if you cant keep up at this point, the problem might be you, not the game.

Oh I know, but I was just pointing out that it was stupid to even go from the angle that it was reviewing poorly due to difficulty when that had almost never been a thing with game reviews. Also if the person that started this actually read them the complaints were about the MSQ being messy. You do know they have access to the game long before we do, and they have discords and channels set up to help each other, right?

I've been playing the game on and off since ARR and nothing has really been all that difficult. There is a slight learning curve but it's not that bad. I've cleared Dragonsong Reprise and The Omega Protocol on the patches they were released and have cleared just about every savage tier that I've been subbed for besides Gordias in HW because I didn't have a group at the time and pf couldn't make it past a3s because of skill issues. I died a lot during the first normal raid boss on my first attempt when I didn't know anything but the second time I went in, I didn't die once and maybe got 1 vuln stack. I've griefed numerous times in one of the extremes although not really on purpose but the more I see the mechanics, the more I'm understanding and making less mistakes. It's really not that bad.

If you say it’s to hard I am here to say it’s just ok and it can also get harder. The community don’t need the ongoing handholding the community needs to get better. Fights are a big part of every mmorpg. After so many addons it’s time to git gud.
-No Enrage you can take long to get it done.
-Even with 9 deaths no problem to get the fight done.
For many players it’s hard to stay awake in so slow fights.
I believe the ones who want it to stay or harder are more players. So I am here to hold against you.
