I made an account to add my own 2 cents to this thread.

Personally, as someone who has played the game pretty casually for about a year, I absolutely loved the difficulty of the newer content. I thought it was perfectly balanced for level 90-100 difficulty. Sure, I died a couple of times but I had so much fun trying to figure out some of these mechs. I feel like like if it were easier I'd just be bored in the middle of fights. Endgame content should be more difficult than what we were doing 3 expansions ago leveling.

It's rude to tell someone flat out to "get good" but I'm also sure I didn't die once to the Honey B. fight on my first run. I was completely impressed with the new mechs and enjoyed the fight. It really is okay to fail a run a couple of times and learn how to dodge mechs and play through comfortably, not all players are gonna get things the first time, and that's okay... but I don't think its fair to call the mechanics too difficult in general when plenty of players will disagree.

you have 10 years and 100 levels worth of msq to learn how to play the game. none of the normal difficulty content in DT is hard. go play hello kitty's island adventure if you don't wana be told that you need to actually use your eyes this expac

I'm sure if you just opened a PF, people will help you get through whatever you may get stuck on. In every normal mode battle in the entire game (with maybe like one exception I'm not thinking of), a party can carry a DPS that literally doesn't even touch their controller/keyboard.
Considering how many clears were done before squeenix put the hammer for trading gil for services, absolutely. Not that players already dont carry others throughout the games content anyways lol.

If you get stressed over the littlest thing, mmorpgs arent for you. That should be your sign to unsub and play something less stressful or anxiety ridden. Mmorpgs are not exactly known for "anxiety" and "stress" relievers.

I was gonna write out a slightly longer post, but then I realized this post was made yesterday at 12:06 PM eastern. Roughly 6 hours after the normal raids were released.

Let content breathe a little before claiming the sky's falling. People will learn, people will outgear it more, and it won't be as much a problem in a few weeks.

Extremes have been getting harder every expansion.
Savages have been getting harder every expansion.
Dungeons on the other hand have pretty much stayed the same difficulty and so the gap between MSQ and optional content has grown quite a bit.
I think it's a great idea to increase the difficulty of dungeons/normal to slowly teach players the mechanics they can expect in harder content.
Me, who joined in EW and had an experience in the first EX trial I tried that made me almost completely abandon the idea of extremes/savage would've appreciated this.

Who cares if you wipe a couple times if you have fun ...

Yes, I have the ability to learn and memorize the mechanics, but it's getting close to crossing the line into extreme content, and that type of challenge doesn't interest me.
You dying getting hit by two mechanics overlapping is not extreme content, this is the problem of this thread. People have been babied by EW for so long and ridiculous gear sync bloat that they think it’s normal and that this new expansion is veering anywhere close to extreme

It’s fine to die, just learn the mechanics and try again, if this was extreme you dying would wipe the rest of the raid as well

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

What's wrong with having to die to learn? And no, it's gotten nowhere near extremes, not even close.

I'm sorry, but have you ever been through an Extreme fight? It's always been a tight dance since ARR.
