    Bunshin should not cost Ninki

I dont understand why Bunshin costs Ninki, it over complicates its placement in the DPS rotation for Ninja and just adds another thing to keep track of for the Job, especially since you need to compile a resource for it as its coming off cooldown. not only that but the extra ninki spent on Bhavacakra would give it an edge to be competitive in the DPS scene.

Are you for real now? I dont know if you are a troll or not, why not just remove Nin straight from the Game? You dont even need to keep track on your Haste Buff anymore, Just let the Game autoplay your Rotation.

Trust me, you do NOT want another job where your gauge is exclusively used for one single-target spender and one AOE spender.

Beast Gauge, Blood Gauge and to a degree Kenki Gauge are some examples of what happens if you do - you remove all nuance to managing the gauge for specific cooldowns and make overcapping the only fail state.

That may be quality of life, but it's incredibly boring.

Where job design is concerned, "quality of life" very often leads to "boring"

RIP Viper 28/06/2024 - 30/07/2024. It was a fun month.

Given the opportunity, developers will polish the fun out of a game.

First you want TCJ simplified and now you want Bunshin butchered no thanks . ,,,,, back in my day TCJ needed 7 inputs and cost 80 ninki lol . Ever since 5.1 Nin has gotten sooo many QoL changes and ease of functions I'm surprised it's still in a decent state . Usually at the beginning of each expansion Ninja is broken and at the bottom of dps charts , I'm so glad it isn't the case this time around and we still have job adjustments to look forward to. The cost of activating Bunshin is warranted IMO .... 800 potency and another 600 from PK with an addition 35 Ninki gain. We need to keep a few jobs in the mix that aren't completely braindead , I mean I just finished leveling vpr a few days ago omg it's so easy and I barely have to look at my hotbars . It's ok to just admit maybe ninja isn't for you .

    can't remember mudra combos
    can't manage ninki
    can't plan out TCJ
    can't use raijus right
complains about bunnies ...... for all of yall maybe ninja isn't for you lol

"Edge to be competitive in DPS." Ugh this is why trick attack stopped being a raid wide debuff and ninja lost its special sub role of support melee. Might as well remove raidbuffs from all melees and turn them all into selfish dps.

I agree, it's enough complexity that it is on a 90 second cooldown. People saying stuff like "trust me you do not want this!!", learn to speak for yourselves.

Ninki is our builder/spender resource, and it can currently be spent on three abilities: Bhavacakra/Zesho Meppo, Hellfrog Medium/Deathfrog Medium, and Bunshin. The first two abilities, of course, are single- and multi-target damage, respectively. Bunshin is a little more flexible (both single- and multi-target) and has a little more going on (the extra Ninki generation, varied shadow attack potency, and Phantom Kamaitachi).

As others have noted, a resource doesn't feel impactful if there are too few things to spend it on. Having this other thing beyond a single- and multi-targed damage oGCD helps Ninki be interesting without being overly mentally taxing. While the 50-Ninki cost of Bunshin restrains when you can use it, it has the good feature that it rewards thinking ahead a bit to set up the burst window correctly (but doesn't overly punish messing it up). This feature of setting up the burst window is, I think, a fun part of NIN. In short, the Bunshin Ninki cost is the fun kind of complexity - moving pieces but ultimately not too mentally taxing.

Rather than remove the Ninki cost from Bunshin, I'd love to see another spender option. For instance, I might collapse Hellfrog Medium and Bhavacakra into one button (big single-target with AOE damage falloff so that it can serve both functions) and add a utility spending option - some sort of heal, mitigation, etc. (It's hard for utility to compete with damage, but perhaps the Ninki cost could be small... or go in the opposite direction and give NIN a 100 Ninki raise ) That way, we'd have three spender options - direct damage, Bunshin (damage, but more nuance), and some sort of utility.
