I'm not sure if this should go in User Interface or Battle Mechanics since technically it pertains to both, but I'll put it here since it's partially related to the Auto-Attack debate as well.

I'm personally on the fence about AA, I could see how it would be useful, but in the current context of the battle system, it would absolutely have to be done carefully, and personally I think there are more pressing issues with the game right now than automating the basic attack.

But one thing that continually seems to get pointed out for the "for-AA" crowd (especially those using gamepads) is that its a hassle to have basic attack on row1 space 1, and having to not only cycle through all three bars, but having to move left and right to select abilities, and then additionally go back to the basic attack is tedious and kills DPS. I don't use a gamepad and therefore have never experienced this, but I could see how that could get pretty frustrating.

My proposal is to allow duplication of skills in the skill tray. I'm going to use Archer as an example here because if AA were implemented by just slapping it on to basic attacks, I think this would be the class most affected.
The skill tray should allow me to put light shot on row1, 2, and 3, on space one, so no matter what tray I'm in, the most I would have to do with a gamepad would be get back over to the first space, and on a keyboard its always accessible easily. Due to the sheer number of skills in this game, the obvious counter-argument would be if you dupe up every skill that you want on all bars, there wouldn't be enough space for everything, but even as a 50 Glad with at least 20 on every other DoW/DoM, I've yet to fill up the entire action bar before I ran out of AP.

Thoughts?
