7.0 DNC is awful compared to EW

As a casual who doesn't save my fan dances for a 2 min burst window cause I'm so SICK of hearing about 2 min burst windows and wish the jobs were designed for them each to do as much damage as possible at all times not just every 2 mins..... I just want my 1.5 Tilana cd back.

Edit: Oh and maybe for Standard Step to change to Last Dance... that would really be very useful.

Sadly 2 minute burst is what it is and you'll keep hearing about it. 1.5 Tillana would break the current rotation in high end content and would make technical step drift so it's dead I'm afraid. I just think it needs to refresh ss again because it's needed in 90 ultimates like TOP and DSR

I'm really not getting it. You can still hoard fan dances for the burst, you just get to use more saber dances outside of burst, and the saber dances that used to be in butst are replaced by finishing move and last dance.

Except those saber dances used to be procs. We used to use saber dances and also procs in burst. Procs would spawn new feathers for us to react to and it didn't used to be so static and fixed. Not to mention the issues of procs and combo expiring resulting in dps lose unless you go into tech totally empty which is hard.

DNC also has a huge overcap issue with Tillana now giving 50 gauge and burst having so many fixed GCD's that spending all the gauge without overcapping and losing damage is near impossible. This is crazy because jobs like MCH lost their "give gauge button" which was actually great for the job because the devs decided that the 5 heat overcap of the EW rotation was too much but DNC right now can overcap 50+ esprit

So, should the Icy Veins updates to Dancer's opener and such not be taken as fact? I'm just a bit confused as they way they outline things makes sense for my head but this thread is saying that Dancer is just completely broken.

The opener obviously makes do with what we have but since EW they have changed the basic principles of the job and it feels completely different to play at high end

Got DNC to 100 and loving it. I main DNC in the last savage tier and have no clue what the OP is on about.

I don't play DNC, but all of my friends are complaining about buff caps and annoying burst windows

Not disagreeing in any way, but I do think at least four of those buffs don’t actually need to be there lol. I don’t think it’s going to affect anyone’s burst if you don’t have Improvisation, Improv Shield, Regen, and Shield Samba applied. Though obviously that’s an issue in and of itself if you’re essentially locked out of using them whenever burst is approaching because you don’t want to overflow on the 120s buffs everyone’s vomiting out lol.

But yeah it’s silly to me that they saw how tight Dancer/Bard openers can get because you’re stuffing practically every skill you’ve ever learned into that 20-sec window every 120s, and were like ‘let’s stuff more crap in there!’. I mean, for Bard two of the three new (sort of lol) skills you get are literally exclusive to burst (Radiant Encore and Resonant Arrow)

Yeah you're right. This was original made for memes, but it can still serve as a good example of the issue that persisted since EW.

The issue became more egregious because SE thinks it's cool to gate key abilities behind "XYZ ready" buff
