FSH desperately needs a separate TACKLE BOX inventory...

The fact that we don't have access to an inventory that expands to accommodate all of the different fishing lures/baits is really annoying. It's incredibly cumbersome and our inventory is just full of lures. Can we give them to a Retainer? Yes. But it's incredibly inconvenient, instead of allowing us to just have them in a separate space so that we can:

    1) Save main inventory space
    2) Be capable of utilizing all of our bait/lures at a moment's notice

This needs to be a thing already. It's concerning that it isn't.

And you get a jump. And YOU get a jump. AND YOU get a jump! JUMPS FOR EVERYONE!

Really though, this question has been asked a million times over the years and every time the dev team gives the same answer. Basically, "if we ever manage to expand the inventory system we want it to be generic, rather than limited to one specific type of item."

The solution would be to get rid of baits as an item and instead let them work like stances. Like the gig heads worked in old spearfishing.

Of course they should reduce the amount of baits at the same time. We really only need a few different for fresh- and salt water and a few special ones.

It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.

Ok, you know how you don't keep every single grade of potion on you at all times, because the best one makes the others obsolete? You've got a stack of Max-potions, you're never going to use any Hi-potions, so you get rid of them rather than letting them take up inventory space.

Likewise, with fishing, you reach a point where you're never going to use another Stem Borer, it serves no further purpose once you've got whatever fish might've needed it.

Asking for a bait inventory is like asking for a potion inventory. It's going to sit either mostly empty or largely unused. And it's kinda a waste of dev time and resources to make a special inventory just to hoard bait because you think you might want to use it someday.

But also, they've already created several bait inventories. They're called vendors. Placed in every zone, carrying the common baits you will use for that zone, while the more specialized expensive baits will be found at the local scrip vendor.

Gonna tell the Fishers the same as I tell the crafters - stop hoarding items that can be easily repurchased and only get as much as you need.

    Absolutely this.

And to add what I usually say: You don't need a tackle box, you need better inventory management skills.

Okay, I understand the pushback and you're correct if you're going for the info OP is putting out.

However, the thing is this problem has already a solution implemented in game and it works just fine.

FSH has a skill called Release List:
This list let you select all fish you want released automatically from a given fishing spot.

How the game fills that list?
First it filters fish that can be caught at the fishing spot, then
It checks if you already caught those fish at least once (unlockable) and put it on the list.

They just need to make a Bait List:
This list let you select a bait you want to use, given it's useable on that fishing spot.

All this info is already there in the game and is referenced everytime you put the line in the water.

You can even make baits an unlockable with scrip, just make they cost more for a one time purchase.

So, yeah, there's no big DEV time or resource hog, because all this info is baked in the game being you a FSH or not.
