    square enix: we need to talk about hunts and why you refuse to address the HP issue

    Option 1: Increase their HP
    Option 2: Make them into Fates like Ixion, etc

    The current situation isn't fun. Hitting the Hunt mark 1 time and waiting for others to tag it to get credit is the definition of laughable content.

    The fact that you've gone 8+ years like this without addressing it is a bad look. This isn't FFXII where you and your party are the only one who will discover hunt marks, this is an mmorpg, start treating it like it's actually one.

    We have big communities for hunts. Have you considered joining one?

    Hell, ask to join a CWLS or look up faloop and their discord to get notified when someone spawns a S rank.
    Otherwise, spawn them yourself.

    I'm pretty active in hunt trains and I'm in favor of higher HP. I think the problem will get a bit better as time goes on, but it's pretty rough to actually get a hit in sometimes. I would also like SS ranks to spawn with a 1-2 minute invuln period. The current system encourages people to sit and wait for others to kill the minions to actually spawn it, because if you go to put in the work to spawn the thing you often won't even get to hit the thing before it's dead. A brief invuln period gives the people that killed the minions time to make it to the SS rank they actually helped spawn.

    It's one of those areas I think is hard to properly address. For example, going with Option 1 would make it "better" for organized CWLS hunts, but given how large our DPS is now compared to the HP of lower-level S ranks, you'd have to massively increase the HP (or else it would just become "hit it twice instead of once")...and if you massively increase the HP, then it becomes absurd for people actually at the appropriate level to engage the mark. You'd effectively be telling people that "even though you're Lvl 50 fighting a Lvl 50 mark in Lvl 50 territory, it's not for you. It's for the people that are in other content and double your level" and that doesn't feel right, either.

    Your Option 2 sounds like the most "fair" approach from a logical perspective, as it already applies to FATEs themselves. I'm just left wondering how you would turn the marks into FATEs in a way that would still make them distinct from just another FATE chain.

    the problem with trains has always been that they are out of control and by making them server accessible you made it worse time to get this issure back under control till this happens i will do my solo hunts and be happy.

    There are a LOT of improvements they could make to The Hunt. It kind of baffles me that they keep releasing new rewards for content that hasn't been improved since ARR.

    A DT A rank has 32 million HP and S ranks have 87 million HP. The current EX bosses have around 60 million HP. That alone should provide a good enough indicator of how undertuned they are.

    It does not matter, and has not mattered since the dawn of the hunt system that the developer "intent" was for them to be fought in small groups because people will inevitably min-max the heck out of any system you put into the game, and in this case it was by coordinating ridiculous amounts of players to gang up on the hunts so they die before they can get more then a few mechanics off, which fundamentally makes the experience feel like a dull grind.

    I think the simplest solution would be to just give the hunts a special buff that either raises their HP or reduces damage taken by a small percentage for every player over the "intended" amount for them (8 players for A ranks and 24 for S ranks would be reasonable IMO) within a 100 yard radius up to a certain limit.

    They added extremely aggressive scaling to the two special boss FATEs this go-around (Such that both can end up with over 1.5 billion HP if there are enough players around) so if they were willing to address that, I don't see why they can't do the same for hunts.

    SE isn't going to do anything to fix the issue because it's totally braindead and best serves the no lifers of the game/content creators, two things SE cares the most about.

    I think they should make SS ranks actually worth it first, because there's basically no reason to spawn one outside of experiencing it the first time
