Sorry to say but you could play 1:1 the top rank rotation and still not doing as much dmg as they do, and btw you shouldnt even look at the top logs most of them are even using a wrong rotation or a special opti rota which isnt used somewhere else, so nice for your advice but its way too much work for something which has a higher chance to be not even true or optimal.

As i sayed, then it is you who do the wrong comparison. If you go to fflogs and filter as explained you see the top boss damage in first place, yes(total damage done, which alone is not the dps) but obviously there you can check the players dps and take the one with the highest boss damage filtered dps(again, same class obviously) to compare with. That way you can be sure the rotation is right. Wrong rotation = lower dps(below 19 or 20k as DRG for example), right rotation = top dps(20-23k DRG for example). It´s as simple as that. The other stuff i explained already(buff usage etc, you have to just check a class guide for that and the top dps players are definitely doing it right).

Ofc if your rotation is right or wrong you can see via your skill usages(Casts) too, but the dps already tells you how you performed while with Casts you can go in detail what exactly went wrong.

I mean, common... did you really ever deal with fflogs(only the website) in any way? Or ever used the filters and timecuts?
