I'd like apartments or inn rooms in all the minor cities (Mor Dhona, Idyllshire, Rhalgr's Reach, Eulmore, Radz-at-Han, Solution Nine), not just Solution Nine.
A 2 floor apartment would be amazing. one on the moon would be great the loporits have lots of empty space. Why are apartments so small to begin with?
If I am honest, then if we were getting a new housing area anywhere, I'd rather it not be Solution 9. It certainly has a certain unique visual style that may appeal to people who are into the scifi aesthetic, but as a functional city hub it kind of falls flat for me for a couple of reasons. Several of them relate to the internal distances. Even with the internal aetheryte network, there is just so much empty space between sparse pockets of interest. It may look like a large city because the nature of the scenery is all man-made smooth boulevards, but as a zone this city has about the density of the Sagolii Desert and most of its corners and boulevards and anti-gravity transport system you will absolutely never use again (and probably never even see again) once you've walked it the one time to unlock the mini aetheryte nearest your destination on the other end.
Functionally, most of Solution 9 it is what I would call a non-space. Right now it is peak current content for how many people should be hanging out there already, and outside of the Nexus the place still feels empty because the occasional player that is out in the open areas just gets drowned out in the scale of it all. In that sense it kind of reminds me of soviet architecture -- the place feels not built to a human scale, but rather to make a person feel small.
Solution 9 also has what I regard as the least appealing central aetheryte area in the game, since in order to come close enough to interact with it you have to walk toes to the edge of a huge drop. Who'd do that in real life?! If a well designed aetheryte plaza has the potential to be a hub's beating heart, they literally made Solution 9's a gaping hole and it keeps triggering my reflexes from other games to feel stressed about walking right up to a cliff edge even if I know there is an invisible wall.
Solution 9 was designed winged species that built the death star. They have wings so a 100 yalm+ drop is just stairs to them...
Yes, please ^_^. Everything Solution 9 related is a welcome sight in my eyes.
If I could have an extra apartment anywhere in the game, I would want one in Terncliff. (The little coastal town from the Sorrows of Werlyt storyline that reminds me of a mix of some Mediterranean towns I've seen.)
But I do also understand why folks would want housing in Solution 9.
Apartments in every city and subcity would do a lot for ensuring they are less deserted while still allowing for most players to congregate in ARR zones (which is a goal to avoid the game feelin deserted for new players, and while it stinks that non-current cities are mostly empty, I agree a first impression is the most important thing). Doubly so for subcities if they put a 'locals only' market board somewhere to encourage them to mill about in public.
