If you hated Wuk and don't like jobs you can pretty safely unsub till 8.5 and be completely fine.

After I closed the door on the MSQ, I'm finally having fun. Heck, some of the crafting quests are better than main story...
This is how I feel about the role quests. Sure, they are silly, but I much prefer them over the msq.
By this point I'm more excited for the Hildibrand story than 7.1.
Which is kind of an achievement in of itself.
I wouldn't say that I'm bored exactly, but I'm certainly disillusioned. Really feel like I wasted my time.
I think something that resonated pretty strongly with me is something one of my friends said when we talking after doing some "content" together.
He said, "God, I can't wait for 8.0."
I said, "Dude, 7.0 hasn't even been out for 2 weeks."
He said, "Be honest. If I'm not feeling it at expansion launch, when am I going to feel anything? In terms of actually playing...whatever this is, we're just playing Shadowbringers 3. This is more like 5.15 then 7.0."
Didn't really disagree.
If it helps, the few crafter storylines have been pretty decent. The Weaver/Leatherwork one, in particular, is essentially forklore stories on each of the races we meet told in a concise and genuinely interesting manner. I found better than the MSQ itself, which is sad to say. I've also heard the side quests in Living Memory are rather good but haven't done any yet myself.I don't think the endgame content itself has anything to do with it. It's all fine.
For me personally, I lost all motivation to play the game after the MSQ. I don't think there's a lack of things to do, in fact the one thing Dawntrail seems to be doing well/better than Endwalker is battle content, and I don't doubt it's all great. A lot of the things we always expect to be there and the same are there and I probably wouldn't have anything to complain about - I've always had fun with those things every expansion. But for me the attachment to the game and the world came from the story and I haven't been interested or curious about it anymore. Sure I love leveling up my crafters and gatherers, but part of the motivation was to read the quests and the story and I'm just...eh. I don't know if other people feel the same.
I also dislike Tullyolal as a main city. Sure it looks beautiful, but it's too big and awkward to walk around and things are inconveniently placed and I don't feel like going there to do stuff. Again, usually the main story makes me attached to the places we've visited, and now I kinda don't feel anything about anywhere in Tural. Maps look pretty, and that's it.
I'm hoping when the new raid tier comes out I get back to feeling like playing the game again.
Nevertheless, I can certainly understand the sentiment. A friend of mine is basically the exact same way and hasn't bothered to log in since last Friday. In my case, I've mostly focused on my usual stuff like making gil. So that keeps me motivated to play. Likewise, the EXs are some of the best they've released. It is a bit sad though I'm enjoying Dawntrail more as I distance myself from the MSQ.

"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
I genuinely felt so, so sad after finishing the MSQ that I've struggled to enjoy myself since. I was really looking forward to levelling all my jobs, and while I have been doing that, a lot of the love I had for the game feels stripped away due to my intense sadness and disappointment with the story. The story is a HUGE reason of why I fell in love with this game and if this is the sort of story we'll be getting going forward I am not sure how much it'll appeal to me anymore.
I'll be picking up some other games soon to distance myself from it a bit, but yeah. The MSQ really put a dampener on everything else for me, even if the everything else is quite good.

Since they don't seem to look at their forums tell them what you think here.I'm so bored out of my mind; The new jobs feel like just a mess of combo that don't really matter. The MSQ just has me going from point a to b like always except this time the story is boring.
The graphics update is a great and needed addition but, what else is there? FF14 as been needing some innovation for awhile imo, how many expansions have we been doing the same thing... MSQ > tomes > raids > ex?
Without the continuation of what was an excellent epic expansion spanning saga; all these overdone game systems and lackluster story bore me more than ever!
There is just nothing new and whats there is soooo boring. As someone who has played since 1.0 I expected more of a "reset" something to keep the game fresh after Endwalker; more than just a new continent and graphics.

It must be you, having a good time here as it is...
I did all of the sidequests in Living Memory...the fountain guy in the first zone I thought was good, the rest was...uhhh...If it helps, the few crafter storylines have been pretty decent. I still plan on checking out the crafter quests eventually, but from your description, it might still fall on the same issue for me. I don't feel like I have a reason to care about the folklore...which is ironic considering they tried to hammer down the "learn other cultures" aspect so badly during the whole story. It's the lack of good character writing for me. I want to care about the characters, and that makes me care about where they live, not the other way around.
I think that's the "bad" part of being too attached to one aspect of the game...it took my enjoyment away from everything else. Which up until the end of 6.0 it didn't feel like a problem at all in this game, but now it seems to be.
Yeah I can feel everyone's dissapointment here - I did too after finishing the MSQ
I am also very sad because SE and Yoshi-P was lying to us in the face on what this expansion is really about. Every single promo material and ad just shows us adventuring or having fun with the Scions in this new land, with not a single sight of that obnoxious cat...
What we got in DT instead is 40 hours of cheerleading, babysitting and being a walking camera slave for Wuk
