I honestly think the four year long content drought between 5.45 and 7.0 broke a lot of people's addictions.

Which is great, you should be happy! Log off, do something else with your time. Learn to play guitar, learn to draw, read a book. Or, like, play another MMO. Classic games like FFXI (and even the modern GW2) are built to have that 'always something to do' world-y-ness that you can dig into.

And Deep Dungeons and limited jobs! But those are much more limited.

Everything else realistically lasts about an afternoon before it's already old. It's a limitation of building a game around instanced synchronized swimming. Once you learn it, you know it.

FFXIV just isn't built to have a lot of meaningful things to do, and that's fine. It's a visual novel with a raid sim attached. Other MMORPGs have interesting worlds to engage with regularly.

I feel like people have been saying this forever and the content cycle just keeps getting slower and slower. It honestly feels like a coping mechanism at this point.

the new content is a lot of fun and the new jobs are very interesting i unlocked both and started with viper learning my rotation and hot button actions building my single target and multi target aoe sets once i completed this i ran with it and had a great time got to 100 did all the viper job quests the msq storyline was decent and keep me interested am close to last area got hung up on fight will take some time to watch the video and learn the fight so i can get to the end game.
