Been waiting for Dragoon free movement button, but...

Dragoon has been my main since ARR, and I've picked up plenty of other melee classes along the way, but haven't given up on goon in all that time. With that being said, there's something frustrating about Dragoon that I need to get off my chest. And it's the lack of a true Free Movement Button.

I've seen the way NIN and RPR have awesome freedom of movement buttons, letting you simply turn and bamph in whatever direction you want. The same is true of Ranged like DNC. But not Dragoon. In fact, for the beginning of Dawntrail, they wiped Spineshatter Dive, and added a new button.... But it's just a gap closer. Requiring a target.

I know a lot of people instantly go, "Oh but Elusive Dive." Yeah... except it's only a backward motion. If I am say... Staring at an enemy in the field, and said enemy throws up an AOE, but there is a trash mob waiting behind me to aggro, I have to first turn around in combat (And pray I'm lined up right, if there's a lot of chaos going on around me), only to Elusive Dive, turn back around, and then run the rest of the distance.

Small minor inconvenience. I get it. But it's frustrating, when we want these classes to be so focused on uptime that I don't have a button like this. Most times, I just have to hit sprint and run. No more hit the boss time for me.

It might seem like a minor inconvenience. But I've been wishing for this for ages, and just the fact that they replaced "Spineshatter Dive" with a gap closer that literally doesn't solve the problem as it requires a targetable enemy, frustrates me.

As a player of many jobs that don't even have a backflip, I find it amusing to see people that actually have one as a mobility tool to complain that their options aren't the best in the mobility department.

I mean, let's do it. Give one to everybody. I'm sure it's gonna happen anyway, more and more jobs seem to be getting theirs.

I like how the forums both constantly complain about homogenization and constantly complain about how every class doesn't have the same tools.
