Constant random freezing

Ever since dawntrail early access came out I have been experiencing random freezes for 5-30 second and then the game goes back to normal. The freezes happen everywhere and at random. They even happen back to back. If I tried to click on the screen I get the not responding and then it will crash, but if I just wait it will unfreeze eventually. I don't have this in any other games, I am not getting any error codes and have a very high end pc with a rtx 4090 and I7-12700K with 32gb of ddr4 3600. I have Tried everything from changing in game setting to verifying files to even completely uninstalling and reinstalling the game, nothing has helped. The game is pretty much unplayable with the freezing. Sometimes after a while the freezing will stop and the game will run fine until I close the game and reopen it. Any help would be appreciated.

I have been having these exact same issues however I just started getting them about 4 or 5 days ago with nothing hardware or software changing. Very similar specs as above 3070 instead of 4090 playing at 5120x1440 the random freezes seem to have no correlation to anything I am specifically doing in game. I can be tabbed out browsing a website and it freezes, in the middle of a fight, or just afk not moving in a housing area. After about 20-30 seconds it will usually unfreeze I have noticed that they tend to come in 2s for me. after 5 to 10 seconds after 1 freeze a 2nd will happen.

It seems, that you have an overclocked system. The 12700K is specified up to 3200 MHz memory clock. And yes, it can make a difference.

Freezing and unfreezing can also be an indicator for overheating or defective Harddisk/SSD. Look into the Windows Event Log. Maybe there are some entries.

You people really need to stop trying to give card board cut out cut and paste answers and pay attention to all of the threads and posts having this same issue. It is not helping at all.
There are many threads about this very same issue and it all started with 7.0.
If you do not have any actually information stop wasting people's time.

It's not copy and paste. If the game would have some issues then everyone would be affected. I never had a single crash with 7.x and i play a lot. So the game itself is OKish.

And there are some common reasons why the game can crash: overclocking, bad/old drivers, bad/old BIOS, Intel 13th/14th-gen CPUs, an old PSU, overheating etc. Those reasons i would figure out first.

It's not copy and paste. If the game would have some issues then everyone would be affected. I never had a single crash with 7.x and i play a lot. So the game itself is OKish.

The issue is that it's a very specific problem that only affects FFXIV.
The game completely freezes up for ~30 seconds, yet you can still alt tab and do other stuff.
If you tab back in, the game is still frozen until those 30 seconds are up like it's running out a timer.

Only FFXIV has this issue. I can run every stress test possible on my computer or play other games that require better hardware for hours on end without issue.

So it's obviously something wrong with FFXIV itself. Either in the programming for certain hardware setups, or just in the way it interacts with Windows itself.

Trying to blame it on other things, or asking the people complaining to try "fixes" that no other program requires, just makes those people annoyed.

I have the exact same issue 1-5 times per day ever since DT released and it doesn't matter what I'm doing. Flying around gathering, random freeze. Standing at FC house, random freeze. Leveling in dungeons, random freeze in dungeon run #4. I can raid for 3 hours and never go below 120 fps, but all of a sudden get freezes for 30s where game CPU and GPU usage goes to 0, then shoot back up unless I click while it's frozen, in which case I crash.

The rest of the PC is running completely fine, any media or music keeps playing while the game is frozen. I've even tried having nothing other than the game running and I still have freezes.

Yesterday at raid night was really annoying because my freeze messed up a pull and then I had a back to back freeze almost a minute long while they were already pulling again so had to reset again, and that made me want to investigate and solve it.

No error codes in Event Viewer.

RTX 3060 Ti
Intel i5-11600K
ASRock B560 Pro4
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2x8GB 3200
Game installed on Samsung SSD 860 EVO 500GB

Before Dawntrail I never had a single freeze since ARR.

Her harddisk is not defective. Stop blaming the PC's. You could scare someone into quitting or spending money they don't need to spend. While I don't know anything about overclocking, it's highly doubtful that's the problem. For every single person who has been experiencing these problems, and more, the problems started after Dawntrail.

Its almost like there are millions of iterations of different hardware/software configurations out there which might cause some people to have similar issues and not others.

As others have said I have no issue with ANY other game or ANY other software no issues BEFORE DT. Something has changed and its not on my end.

I rolled back my Nvidia drivers to 552.44 as I thought the latest drivers might have been the issues and it seems to have possibly reduced the amount of freezes but I did still get a few to happen after doing this.
