That doesn't make any sense at all. If they tried to ask him some trick question or the article ignored part of his answer or something maybe there would be an argument there.

You can't help but wonder if part of the reason game is suffering is because Square is more than happy to milk the game for all the money it brings while making sure it sees barely a fraction of that money put back into it.
....who am I kidding, there's no reason to wonder when it's blatantly obvious that's a huge contributor to the issues.

And saying stuff like "yeah we're piling as many other projects on the game's director as humanly possible, but don't worry it'll help the game in the future!" is such an unbelievably garbage excuse. When do we get to see said benefits, then? When all these extra projects are done, are they going to let him focus back on XIV 100%, or just keep shuffling him around to the next project that XIV itself is bankrolling? I think we all know what the answer is there, too.

HOW will working in multiple other projects taking away time from the project he's SUPPOSED to be leading benefit 14 again?
If 10 other projects earn enough money then they might throw a dime towards 14 that paid for all of those 10 projects?

I hope nobody buys the incoming FF9 remake, and I hope they sit on it like Smaug on top of his hoarde of gold to keep it on console for 5 years and ban it from PC and wonder AGAIN. "Where are the sales at"
I might be keeping my sub on for social stuff, and my houses, but I sure as heck am not opening my wallet for any other Square projects until they focus on 14 first.

A cynic might suggest that getting the director as far away from 14 as possible might allow fresh leadership to halt the death spiral.
