We DO NOT need FURTHER simplification. Just go play an idle game, seriously. Stop ruining the game.
Oh please we've been over this a bunch of times already, 123 as an OPTION is no more challenging and thoughtful than pressing 111. Jobs with combos have more than one damage button to press compared to healers anyways between cooldowns, spenders and other timed actions. Viper is a good example that you can condense not one, not two, but four combos down into two buttons (8 actions -> 2 hotkeys) and it's still going to be okay. Like I'm sorry, but there is no skill involved in hitting your 123(45) button sequence, it's purely a matter of muscle memory. On multi-combo jobs you can still make mistakes by initiating the wrong combo sequence, so it doesn't delete all failstates either.

The jobs that would generally benefit this feature are those with multiple or long combo paths. Dragoon and Samurai with their multitude of combos would come to mind for relinquishing a lot of hotbar real estate. These jobs also have plenty of other actions to press besides combos.

I despise it when things are suggested or asked for as an optional feature and people are like "stop ruining the game" like for whom? For you?
