Now that you mention it, the meteor shower seems to have been fortelling Dalamud... So I'm wondering now if maybe the Dalamud plot was planned all along, but changed just enough to make for a transition into 2.0.

Also, the fact that the beginner NPCs are Archons seems to have been planned from the start. And whats the purpose of an Archon? To prevent the 7th Umbral Era. :0

Maybe Dalamud was a last minute plan B that Tanaka threw in just in case FF14 flopped (which he had to have known it probably would).
