Mouse/Camera Issues

Upon logging into the game today, I noticed that I can no longer move my camera by holding either the left or right mouse button. All other mouse functions seem to be working: I can click on my hotbars, I can drag UI elements across the screen, I can even automove by holding both mouse buttons but the camera no longer pans with the mouse's movement. I then checked if I can still rotate my camera using the arrow keys and those work just fine.

I tinkered with my mouse settings a bit to see if I can isolate the problem but to no avail. One thing to note is that when I use the hardware cursor, instead of disappearing when I hold my mouse buttons, it stays on screen and shakes in place as I try to move the camera.

I've restarted my PC and I've tried to rollback the most recent windows update but the issue persists.

adding here that i am having the exact same issue as well. have tried all forms of trouble shooting, full restart. and everythings up to date. also submitted a bug report with config details

saw a redditt post, seems they were able to fix it by setting run as administrator on ffxiv program, i did the same thing, and this has resolved the issue for myself as well

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
How often does the issue occur?

Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

All steps taken to resolve the issue:

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.

As previously mentioned, it could be a permissions/communication issue. Have you already tried running the game as an administrator?
