In the spirit of embracing the East, the Dev team put in Mahjong.
Now that we are in the new world I'd appreciate a similar nod to the West.
With some Texas Holdem Poker.

It's all I can think about when Shaaloani. It's the quintessential cowboy game.

I'd love to see it a suit of cards in the Final Fantasy style.

Hopefully, others feel the same.

100 chips for each player, chips are only used for this game. If a player wins, they get 2500 mgp. As I know texas holdem matches can be pretty quick.

Yeah, I think if you make the betting with just chips and you get an MGP reward for how well you do it removes the gambling aspect of it.

I for one normally never play poker for real stakes myself just play with chips.

And Texas Holdem you are right is designed to be played quickly, It is the original true cowboy poker, because it was made for when you had too many players but not enough cards.
Shaaloni being on the frontier as it were would totally be like that.

Sad part is, back in the day many JRPG's did add poker or card games like it to their single player jrpgs, yet that doesn't happen as much or at all anymore, and apparently it applies to MMOs despite its core playerbase being adults.

I can enjoy a good Poker sim myself, but I don't see it happening here. Walking that fine line between gambling and not gambling.
