Whispering became more frustrating in DT

So, maybe some settings reset, and there's an easy way to fix this I don't know about (I'd love to hear if so), but whispering people has become a major hassle with DT.

Around ShB or EW, I discovered that if I clicked a person's name to whisper them, then hit 'enter', I'd lock my chat into whispering them directly as my current default for messages. FF14's chat is in some ways fantastic, but whispering is definitely not its strong suite, so this workaround was a godsend, and made communication way, way easier.

But this feature has been removed in DT for some reason. Now, if you click someone's name, then hit enter, it doesn't lock them in, it just resets the chat back to whatever channel you were previously using.

This is very frustrating and has made communicating via whispers super annoying.

While I think FF14's whisper system needs an overhaul, I'd settle for just getting this one feature back.

EDIT: Don't reply telling me about /r. The /r system in FF14 is extremely clunky and easily "sniped". I'd use /r if it worked like it does in other MMOs.

i can't tell how many times i whispered to the wrong person because the game can't remember the chat i was writing in, its so annoying.

TBH I'd love if they'd redo the whole chat experience, having a separate system for player interaction would be amazing

Someone had mentioned that they changed it to cut down on RMT activity. Personally I think the change sucks. I know you can just put /r but I like to see the name of the person I'm responding to. Especially if there's 2 people I'm talking to at once.

Yep extremely annoying! Whispering also doesn't work while being in a cutscene.
