Honestly I would rather if they made new jobs start at 30, give us more leveling. I enjoy leveling.
Didn't in one of interview YoshiP already said that it is indeed a problem, they can't keep doing it, and also explained that they can already pre calculate it right now for the next cap?By the same token, if it aint broke, dont fix it.
FF14 is a blockbuster franchise that makes a ton of money. Coca Cola Corp is a blockbuster corp that makes a ton of money. They changed the formula for Coca Cola and took a bath. Coke is back to the old formula.
If you want to try something different, create a new franchise. Don't alienate the fans that have brought you success, dont change the formula.
Look at what Disney did to the Star Wars franchise. They pissed off the fans by changing the canon. Those shows on Disney Plus are taking a bath right now.
Pretty sure he did. If I remember correctly, he didn't want to go beyond level 100. Think this was around endwalker with the stat squish.
it sounds like they've already talked about this, showing the player is getting more powerful is apparently a part of their whole design philosophy, and it doesn't sound like equipment is the core of that.
Developers, please ignore this sentiment, I know in the past we've pandered to these casuals but just this one time, let this one slide, it's not indicative of the playerbase, please keep giving us things to grind for, please keep rewarding us for the grind, if they can't be bothered doing 10 levels which is equivalent to two days worth of roulettes and a couple dungeons thrown in, they should probably play something else. While yes, levels have always been a thing for both jrpg and mmos, the repeated action of raising the level floor each expansion however does nothing but invalidate past content and efforts put into the game.
The argument for levels is always that we get stronger, but looking at the reality of things.
When expansions drops we will suddenly find trivial mobs that rivals the mightiest of gods.
Our classes/jobs becomes cluttered with random things because the devs HAVE to find something new for them.
And past content becomes trivialized and broken forcing devs to possibly have to put extra effort into fixing it, especially when it's dug up and repurposed like the Ultimate and Unreal fights.
If that 10 level grind have to exist for every job each expansion, then find out something that can work as a substitute for it.
