Why are the Ala Mihgans still referred to as "Resistance Fighters"?

Doing Role quests and tha Ala Mihgan's are still referred to as resistance fighters... Why is this? I can understand not wanting to change references in the open world, but during Dawntrail quests? These fighters havent been resisting anything since the middle of Endwalker with Garlemald fell.

They've been fighting for twenty years--possibly even more, I gather that Theodoric's opposition wasn't exactly peaceful. It's never stated, but I think it's completely understandable that they'd still hold that title as sort of a badge of honor; they WON at resisting, that's what they're best at, you don't just stop calling yourself an athlete after winning the gold!

Because the Ala Mhigan Resistance did not disband following the successful liberation of the city from Zenos and the XIIth Legion, it became Ala Mhigo's temporary (and currently provisional) government and military, while discussions took place as to what permenant form of government would be set up to replace it.

No doubt eventually they'd reorganize into a more permenant military force for the city, but for now, they retain their original name simply out of pragmatism.

The Ala Mhigan military is now called the Ala Mhigan Resistance.

It's for the same reason some real world militaries maintain resistance/revolution themed names for several decades after the conclusion of a successful resistance or revolutionary movement. it's familiar and a reminder of what the nation had been through.
