Most fun I've had on a job in a long time. Probably since stormblood at the least.
I love how often I'm pressing things and how many positionals there are.

i got it to 92 before i stopped, its okay, but its not as much fun to me as pictomancer.

To me viper is what Reaper should of been. Reawaken feels like a enshroud handled better and the dot management while simple keeps it from being fully brain-dead.
I think the lack of defensive cd is a bit odd but it should have high damage for being a selfish melee, should be at samurai levels.

I actually like it as it's an easy job to get away from the constant hotbar staring fairly quickly since it's quite simple without the excessive button bloat samurai and ninja is suffering rn (they fixed that nicely on dragoon)
My only issue with it is that the trance should have gotten some sort of range extension like the gunbreaker continuation - it feels very awkward to use in the current oversized trash pull compared to their usual circle aoe.

I’ve also been drawn to flashiness.
That and I have only not gotten bored of 2 melee prior to this job is a good thing for me.
Drg - boring
Sam - (really liked it when it first came out… but now I can’t even stand to be in the job outside of leveling it to max. I truly dislike samurai in XIV. Which makes me sad because I really like samurai’s in media and other games)
Mnk - boring
Nin - not boring, just soft.
RPR - love this job. Just slow.
Nin - so far, liking it a lot though time will tell.

Like Viper, plays pretty good most of the time. But there are some design things I don't get. Why make 4 finishers wich pretty much all do the same? After the initial choice of one of those 4 finisher you just press whatever is glowing. Don't realy get the necessity.
Also I don't get why multiple skills change to the same skill when pressing your Reawaken. That is much more annoying than helpful. I do know what buttons to press in wich order but it is distracting.
Some Skills feel a bit too "bloaty". The playstyle is fast enough and entertaining (fastest class so far for APM) just some skills don't have a real function there.
Viper is a mess. It's fun in its own right because of the speed and weaving. But the job feel automated by how its GCDs work. There not much the really think about and input error is almost a none issue with everything weaving into each other. A bit too far in s simplification and strikes me as that kind of job that is fun for a minute, but will gets boring quick.
Honestly disappointed that the twin-blade is just a design aesthetic. It would have been neat if they leaned into the different stances do different things aspect. But i guess that would add too much complexity for this job.

I join you there, the job is mostly the same thing, hard to learn at first then quickly becomes monotonous at the point where the only thing that changes from fight to fight are the positionals.Viper is a mess. If the boss fly away you just refresh all your buff and debuff with dreadwinder.
For example Reaper needs to manually refresh Death Design, Build Harvest Moon during downtime, use Arcane Crest correctly.
Viper feels like the melee version of Machinist but with even less to manage.
The “Summoner” of Melees for sure. Im not quite sure melee has that niche but hey
