    Mountain of Fire x Meteor

    This new tower crossover with a tank buster in Valigarmanda Ex where tanks alternate taking the tower and the party needs to stand behind aligned with wherever the boss is hitting from is pretty great and I have yet to see anybody complain about it. Definitely props for it.

    And you all know how meteor works with boulders or anything to hide behind. This mechanic has been declined into countless variants over time and has become a staple of every kind of content in the game.

    I do think an interesting type of mechanic inspired from this could be introduced to make tanking more like... tanking. Some raid wide attacks for example could be blocked that way by tanks, and it would leave a safe cone or rectangle behind to shield the party. Some could do a complete absence of damage provided you're inside, some could be just a reduced damage, with a decent UI to signify the mitigated area of course.

    What's the difference with a wild charge? Well here it's not a line AoE, it's a raid wide with different shelter shapes, where the tank acting as the rock behind which the party can hide from a big attack.

    We need more actual tanking for tanks, else they're just blue DPS jobs in a trenchoat that just can't die easily.

    Yes I would like more wild charge type mechanics where the tank has to take the first hit or someone will die. Mountain fire is also a very cool looking tank buster. I just hope they move away from invuln cheese like in the EX2 with WAR.
