Just a weird observation, not sure where to post this but I think the 'Hammer Stamp' model is backwards. It's supposed to be a stamp, but the paint is on the backside.

As a note, it is the same for the follow up attacks where the side you hit the enemy with is the non paint side.
From what I found on an online dictionary one of the meanings to stamp is "to pound or crush with a pestle or a heavy instrument". I don't know for sure on their intentions on which side that paint was supposed to be though.
I don't think it means that it's a stamp. I think it's an action - stamp (pound) it with a hammer.
Think it's meant to represent the hammer manifesting.
As in, when we start slapping with it it's just a blob, but then the end hitting something hardens into the shape of a hammer while the rest is still just a blob. And then it falls apart back into paint.
