GPU usage 100% every 45 min and only fixed after game restart

Hi everyone,

I am currently experiencing a GPU usage 100% and fps dropped to 15-25 problem after the Dawntrail update. My GPU usage increased to 100% approximately every 45 minutes and fps dropped to 15-25 and only fixed to normal after I restarted the game. This happens even in low-resolution mode. Does anyone else have the same issue?

My gaming laptop spec:

i7-10875H CPU @ 2.30GHz
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 Super
32GB Memory
1TB SSD
Windows 11 Home

I have a similar issue, my framerate gets progressively worse the longer the game is open. I can get a steady 60 fps even in busy areas, but it degrades down into the low 40s and I can only fix it by closing the game and restarting it.

edit: Just to be clear, it's not caused by more people entering the area over time. The game will be running in the low 40s, then I can close it, immediately re-open it and log back in, and the exact same area will be locked 60 fps.

What Platform are you using? (Steam/Windows/Mac/PS4 etc.)
At what point does the issue occur?
How often does the issue occur?

Are you running any additional programs alongside Final Fantasy XIV?
Does the issue occur with one character or multiple characters?
When the crash happens, is the PC over heating at all?
Were any update or changes made to the PC around the time of the crash?
Does this issue occur if the game is run in full screen mode? Does it happen in borderless or windowed mode?

All steps taken to resolve the issue:

Could you provide a system report? Simply go to the 'Config' option on the Final Fantasy XIV launcher and to the right of 'System Information' click on 'Display.
