(Dawntrail End Spoilers) Why No Medieval Zones

I had a lot of fun this expansion, the dungeons were great, story was great and the zones were interesting however I can't help but feel disappointed that yet another medieval styled area is shoved into a dungeon. First with Terncliff being that style but instanced, then Lunar Subterrane in the beginning of the dungeon and now Alexandria being in a dungeon.

Why is it that we aren't ever given these classic final fantasy medieval vibe towns or zones to explore, something that shows in almost every single game for people to enjoy and also roleplay within?

Solution 9 is of course great but we've been going to more and more "advanced" technology zones that the feeling of "wow" is wearing off. (Amarot first. Then Garlemald. Then the Loporritt Moon. Now Solution 9)

I'd really love to see the Alexandria and other pieces used in a setting we can actually go and explore fully.

Medieval in Tural America??... Other than replacing Solution 9, the idea doesn't make sense.

Not sure what America has to do with that unless it's a joke.

Also there is literally medieval town in the new area but it's destroyed so. It does make sense?

    It doesn't.

Medieval north America would mean Native American nomadic tribes in tents.
Medieval south America would mean ancient Aztec stuff. Tuliyollal is pretty much as close as we're going to get to that.

America != Europe. It was settled by Europeans AFTER the Medieval times.

The only thing I found weird is that SE didn't use Archaeo Alexandria for ... literally anything.

He is talking about Alexandria, which is NOT based on America.

Archaeo Alexandria is your medieval town.
The civilization has advanced due to Electrope.

Personally I find advanced civs fare more interesting than the ever same old stereotype of European Medievalism. *yaaawn* been there done that .. in countless games.

Alexandrias use of souls was an interesting/thought provoking concept. Just wish the writers would have pulled it off better.

Oof! North American indigenous peoples are more than just «Native American» (an outdated term btw) nomadic tribes. Several groups were sedentary and North America is not just the USA. Btw the «Aztec stuff» was in North America, not South America. As for European presence in North America, the Vikings made their way there centuries before Columbus and the others that came after.

There were many cultures and civilizations is what is known today as the American continent.

the common idea of the NAtive US groups are either those in the NE (like the irriqois confederation) or groups that would be known as "plains indian", neither of these groups are in dawntrail very much as inspirations, most of dawn trail take insperation from the incan empire (and surronding groups in chile and peru), midland mexico of aztec and mayan, and some associations of Arizonan/new mxico groups, such as notable inspirations of the cliffside rock dwellings used by ancestors of the Sinagua/ Hopi

Because it's based on Fantasy North and South America, where you will note there are not a bunch of European style medieval castles lying around for us to visit. They pulled historical architecture from the ancient civilizations of those areas to run around in, plus a future-fantasy zone, as do a lot of classic Final Fantasy games and the previous expansions of this game. They already did a big "medieval stonework and castles" expansion, I'm sure you've played it, it's called Heavensward. We also got some more whimsical fantasy castle stuff in Shadowbringers. You even pointed out how we still are getting dungeons (which you can wander around in explore mode to your heart's content in and take pictures in gpose) and instanced areas that still do the classic fantasy castle stuff, so I'm really not sure what the problem is.

I'd really like if the zones considered how we'd want to play in them after the story is over. But they are clearly just there to service the story and if they don't look good after that, it doesn't seem important to SE. They're often just rubble that we never clean up, like how Yanxia is.
