Gongcha collab code useable crossregion?

Hi guys,
Doing a forum post as the answer I got from submitting a ticket was very vague.

I live in Australia with an NA account and am wondering if the gongcha collab code may be redeemed on the NA account with a code purchased from an Australian store?

Usually codes are not redeemable cross region but given the collab is international I am huffing hopium that it will work.

Your best bet would be to email SE store for your accounts region and discuss the problem with them as if you have/get a code they are likely your best source of help to amend the issue.

However, as it is an EU event, I'm guessing here, no.
They region locked the Mnt Zu and Black Fat Chocobo to NA only, they could at least have the decency to let us have our piggy to ourselves.

The thing is it seems more similar to the chokorpurr twitch collab, the gong cha collab is not strictly an EU event and is available in NA/EU/JP. Given that it is the second international collab. gives me hope that it does work cross region as the codes could be generic.

I did try contacting NA support through a ticket as I mentioned in original post, but even they did not know the answer....

"We have received and reviewed the request for assistance regarding Gong Cha collaboration, I'm here to check on that for you.

That information has not yet been announced or we are not able to comment at this time."

I have tried contacting them again now that the event has actually been opened and hopefully get a solid answer this time.

Yeah, they're not region locked. I sent a code to a friend and it worked.

Considering this promotion appears to be run by SE and they put no mention of region locks into the promotion page, I would think you're fine.

I gave an aussie code to my NA mate and they got the mount no problem

Thanks guys! I was able to successfully to use the code I bought here, the customer support said a generic "item codes are not useable cross-region" response, I'm glad I posted here.

We had several Gong Cha's out in our area that were handing out three codes per three drinks. Those of us who had spares handed them to our EU friends, no dramas.
