Concerning the death of a specific character (DT Spoilers)

I've been looking around and thought I should ask here where we seem to have more lore-bois (gender neutral). How the hecc did Cahciua die? I know it wasn't age, but like, I don't remember anyone asking or her telling. Is there a side quest I need to do? It kinda feels like important information.

Except clearly more mature than Eren.

We don't know when she got Savefiled in the 3x10 years she was within the bubble.

But regardless, it's clear that her form that showed her happiest, regardless of knowing her circumstances is that of someone with "agency"

It could be old age, maybe she was already very old (multiple centuries) during her travel with Gulool Ja Ja 80 years ago. It could be sickness or being killed by some monsters (I can see her accepting the regulator but not wanting to use soul as safeguard against death).
At the very least, she seemed to know Sphene, and even if she was opposed to her goal, they didn't seem to have a "bad relationship", so I don't think she was killed or anything like that.

All we know is that it was during the thirty years inside the bubble, and that she had a regulator on at the time, since her memories were stored in Living Memory. No exact details have been given.

I believe we can rule out old age as the cause of death. Viera are confirmed to live three times as long as Hyur, so let’s say 300 tops. Erenville is confirmed to be 25 years old as of Dawntrail, thanks to the Eorzea Encyclopedia, and Cahciua was one of the warriors that sealed Valigarmanda 80 years ago. Let’s say hypothetically she herself was 25 when they sealed Valigarmanda: she would then be 80 when Erenville was born, 105 when he returned to Tural, and then 135 after the 30 year time skip caused by Alexandria. So barely middle aged for a Viera.

My theory is that given her “adventurous” nature, she may have been out in the wild and ran out of Soul Cells, perishing by creature attack. Upon becoming an Endless and learning about Living Memory, she found a way to control one of the robots in the real world so she could gather a following and try to stop the inhumane practices keeping the Endless “alive”.

What if part of the reason why she willingly used the regulator despite knowing it would rob her of her memories was because she knew she wouldn't make it out of the dome alive and wanted to leave some version of herself behind for Erenville to find?

My guess is that she got killed by something loyal to Sphene while trying to prevent Interdimensional Fusion. Once she became Endless, the "protect all my robot ghosts" programming kicked in to prevent Sphene from doing anything further to her.

We know that the Endless take the form of what they looked like during their happiest moment in life
This is shown through Wuk Lamat's mother figure and the side quests in Living Memory

Given her character, it would make sense then that how she appears before us is when she was most happy - traveling on the road with Gulool Ja Ja and the others.

My reason for thinking this is a comment she made when we first meet her, though admittedly I can't quite remember the full thing. She refered to herself as a young shetona maiden, or something along those lines which seems odd to me but could be nothing

It's tricky with Viera, because of their lifespan and I don't recall us seeing a visibly aged one as they retain their youth for the most part. I believe one thing that what I say would struggle to hold against is Iyaate, the blue-haired woman we meet in the MSQ who seems to be familiar with Erenville and his mother

I do like the idea that she was possibly killed due to her affiliation with the rebel group seeking to shut everything down though, and it's probably a much better explanation story-wise as to why she's no longer around but the other members seem to make no mention of it

Depends if Viera undergo menopause or not, and assuming they do, as others have mentioned, Erenville is 25, so Cahciua must've been capable of having children relatively recent in a Viera's long life.

Of course, there are other lore bits about Viera that shows their biology is very unlike that of huma- I mean, hyur, so it's entirely possible they don't, and elderly Viera women are still capable of having children, we can't be certain on that front.
