Just looking at similiarties of design, could just be a trend, it could be something deeper, more meaningful. But let's take the Emperor for example..



and compare his headpiece and such to.. Odin.

I've honestly thought for awhile that the Empire secretly houses something of a Primal, despite their supposed hatred for them.

It reminds me much of the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The Imperial army of that storyline abhors magic and wants to quash it everywhere, except their own. They want to rid the world of 'tyranny of magic', yet at the same time, they use magic of their own to see their ends met.

Perhaps I'm just grasping for similiarties, but the thought had been bugging me since I saw the old man emperor, so thought I'd ask community.

I feel like he resembles Golbez more than the Emperor. You couldn't have picked a better picture of Golbez either! They look really similar. However, Golbez was never depicted with a horse so we kind of have to rule him out.

Interesting thought.
But, there's the lore thing about the king on the site, that talks about his bad health.
Not that it disproves your theory.

1) King isnt a primal. (How can a god (or a pseudo god) get sick)
2) King still isnt Odin, but uses his body to allow odin's spirit to control him. (Making him sick)
3) He is Odin, and people mistake his sickness for something else.

We know that Odin is a wandering Primal, so it's unlikely the two are linked.

Gesthal is not odin......

It not that he is Odin, you misunderstand. Its that the same sort of designs, headpieces, armor, etc, following suit.. could mean that Odin, is actually a part of the Empire's arsenal, since we really know nothing about how Odin plays a part in this game as of now.

Considering gods can actually die in a lot of mythology, and quite a few due to reasons other than murder, I wouldn't exactly rule this out.

Not that I really agree with this whole idea to begin with, just felt like pointing that out.

Anyone else think the emperors hat looks way too clunky and top heavy for an 80 year old sick man to be wearing? I mean look at it its like 3-4 times larger than his head
