Option to lower brightness/intensity of boss spell effects

Spell effects on bosses in this game have progressively gotten brighter and more intense for the past couple expansions and it's to a point now where it's genuinely not enjoyable playing through some of these fights because you either can't tell what's going on through the see of blinding flashy effects or it's just frankly unpleasant to look at. It's nice that we can limit these for our own spells and those of others in our group, but we really need an option to tone down some of these effects on bosses. Obviously not to the same extent as the player/party options as that would make it impossible to see and react to the mechanics. Just something to soften the effects so they're less hard on the eyes.

I found this post while searching for a way to turn the lighting effects down for the bosses. I still want to see the attack indicators; I just want to reduce the cosmetic lighting. As someone with light sensitivity stemming from a medical condition, this is becoming a big issue for my game play. My vision becomes temporarily impaired by the flashes and then I keep dying because I can't see the mechanics. Alexandria is really bad. I dread going into expert roulette but I need it for tombs and gear. I am really hoping someone replies to this with a solution.

BTW...I have already adjusted the character, party, etc. effects. Like Bearskjold indicated, this is about the BOSSES.

Same issue, EX2 is unplayable for me at certain points because I may as well just stare at a flashlight instead for all of the needless garbage on screen, my own effects I used to leave on but they added so much flash to that that I had to turn that down too because it was obfuscating other effects on the field I needed to see.

I still haven't finished the MSQ, I'm right at the end with a dungeon and trial and have been avoiding it because the DT dungeons physically hurt. The boss effects are so flashy and bright that not only can I not see the mechanics so I'm spending a lot of the fights dead (not fun!) I also get massive headaches from them (even less fun!).

What I'd like to see is an opacity / brightness slider setting for boss effects. Would be nice to add to player effects as well. That way people who like the extra stuff can enjoy it but also let those of us that can't at all right now actually enjoy the game.

I can do most fates without much problem since the player effects can be reduced/removed and older dungeons seem less harsh on the eyes but the current ones are actually painful. Not sure if it's the graphics update causing it (that's causing issues for some people because of the blur and bloom effects) or the graphics team decided to go extra big and flashy this expansion.

    Edited to add:
Had to laugh when I realised we're all cat girls, maybe feline eyes really are more sensitive to bright light. /s

There's another thread with others with similar problems here

My partner has epilepsy and later Dawntrail duties were so bad for intense flashing she was hospitalised and is considering quitting the game, I would like to see options to reduce intensity for boss effects, possibly replace non standard aoe markers with the normal orange one, as well as options to reduce intensity for certain weather effects (lightning effects as they appear in 14 are the worst thing we've ever found for her)

Seriously, what was Square Enix thinking when they removed the ability to disable glare in Dawntrail?
