People say “give constructive ideas not complain” then someone goes to this much effort to provide a constructive idea and people dismiss it out of hand

1) 2 dots give that to the DPS first- BRD and GNB already have that and SMN used to have that before the remake you have championed before
2) nobody else has an AOE DOT- PLD and GNB, RPR functionally as well

For some people, it's SE's way or the highway.

As for AOE DOTs, if we want to include old designs: NIN has one (Doton), SMN still has one (Slipstream, Garuda phase), MCH's Bishop turret was effectively an 'AOE DOT', MCH also has Flamethrower if you want to count it, MCH also has BioBlaster, BRD had Flaming Arrow, SMN also had Shadowflare, SMN/SCH could turn their ST DOTs into AOE via Bane, BLM has AOE Thunder, as you say PLD has Circle of Scorn, GNB has Bow Shock, but DRK also has Salted Earth. I don't agree with you that RPR has a DOT 'functionally', I assume you refer to Death's Design, but that'd be like saying Trick Attack is 'functionally a DOT' for NIN

SGE now has an AOE DOT (Eukrasian Dyskrasia), and it's a healer too. Just off of that, I would argue that SCH getting an AOE DOT isn't the most bizarre design choice, because for 6 years it had one (ARR-SB it had Shadowflare). Actually, for a while it had Miasma 2 as well I guess
