It seems like the writers in gaming have no clue how to write dialogue. The over-explaining, repetition, and dragging out of every conversation is an epidemic right now. It's especially bad with FF14 and FF16. I'm so consistently baffled that characters are still talking at the halfway mark of most cutscenes. They're not even saying anything new. Just talking in circles.
