You saying that while typing those words about Dawntrail is quite funny.
So basically you say you did the same thing for Endwalker, hating it so much you allmost quit but people saying the same thing about Dawntrail are whingers. Good comedy.



On topic:
The dungeons are nice, the zones are nice and the music is nice. I give them credit for that.
The story is stupid.

Too bad Dawntrail, with all its flaws, does not compare to the utter slop that was Endwalker. In fact all of DT's flaws are completely overblown, that's why I refer to you all as whingers. You all just want to see who can whine the loudest. Therefore I don't care about the "popular" opinion being shown in this forum. I enjoyed DT and it's brought my love for the game back. I won't change my opinion for people who want to waste their time being outraged all the time.

If you want more slop like EW, be my guest. If you enjoy wasted zones (rip Garlemald, rip all that hype about going to the moon), wasted plots, NPCs slobbering all over you, endless pandering and fanservice, absolutely zero content, dumb rabbits nobody cares about wasting screentime, a complete and utter destruction to their own worldbuilding and an utter flop of a "story", then who am I to say what you can and cannot enjoy.

You like Danwtrail, good for you. It's nice that you found fun again in this game. I don't want you to change your opinion and never said that.
I didn't even say anything about my take on Endwalker I commented on the double standard. Just for your information. EW is only on 3rd place for me personally.

Story is stupid indeed. EW, not my fav but still much much much much better than the trash DT is. New characters introduced like Meteion, Venat and more are WAY BETTER AND MORE CHARISMATIC AND LOVABLE than the stupid Wuk Lamat.

The calm parts of the story were charming. I laughed quite a bit. Especially at Wuk Evu (please give us more of him. PLEASE!). The dramatic parts were gripping. Radz at hahn coming to the rescue gave me chills! The second half of the story was the best and then when I thought it would end it just kept going. It was great.
Erenville Krile and Wuk Lamat were great companions for the story and watching them get fleshed out was great.

I really enjoyed the themes of family dichotomy, and the comparisons between the different leaders. Gulool Ja ja, Wuk Lamat & Koana, Zoraal ja and Sphene, and then theres the warrior of light and the scions. A big theme of this expansion was parenting and personal growth of their offspring. Whether that be in the positive of Wuk Lamat Koana, the negative of Zoraal ja, or the heartbreaking for Erenville and Krile. They really just packed SO MUCH into this story and we're not done with these characters yet! We have an entire post MSQ to see what happens. I'm excited for more and I was incredibly pleased with the story overall.

Then there was Namikka. I thinnk Namikka's story beats were done incredibly well. I was heartbroken over how the little act of fixing the railroad had derailed her entire life and even up to the end she was clinging on to seeing Wuk Lamat again. It was heartbreaking.

MSQ however was a dumpster fire, and I struggle to find any part of it worth praising.

I'd love to see what people think of the story of other popular mmo's. You know the ones that put the MSQ in a book instead of in the game and then try to give you a recap of the book, now THAT is a dumpster fire-level story. MSQ in FFXIV is best in the mmo market and that included dawntrail and we can give tangible, articulable feedback on the parts we don't like without telling the developers it's the worst story ever because, quite frankly, it is still better than everyone else doing mmo story.

Agree, I'm glad we seem to get more gameplay content this time!

Extremes are fun, expert dungeon bosses feel "expert" for the first time ever.
Dungeons themselves, (as in dungeon design) are pretty uninspired and I feel it went down from previous expansions.

New music is good, unfortunately some of it is recycled music from older content or at best a remix.

Areas are nice looking, nothing special, nothing bad (expect from the last area).

Story in ffxiv was never "good", but it was always fun, it had it highs and lows, but dawntrail took it to a new level of bad.

Graphical update is overall good but it seems a lot of people hate it, The world changes, light, textures are great, I dont see a lot of difference on the characters, my character looks a bit worse IMO but nothing I cant live with.

0 Queue time even on legacy servers such as Balmung was a great surprise, but I heard it's only like this on JP and NA, nobody cares about Europe at square?

Endless list of old issues that will forever be in the game and devs are either unable to resolve due to lack of ability/manpower or just because they are lazy.

A lot of the "new gear" is old gear.
A lot of dawntrail monsters are the same old monsters.

Overall, 4/10, Been playing the game for about 10 years, this is a low point, here is hoping for the future.

story was god awful, but I only have to experience that once and i can just skip story cutscenes going forward since i no longer have faith in your team's ability to tell a compelling story
the actual gameplay content has been mmmmmm chef's kiss, so good. keep it up.
