Game crashes with different errors.

Ever since the game fully released, about two days after, i have received nothing but non stop crashes, and tried everything possible on my end to fix it, these crashes are completely random and at completely random times, i could play for hours and not get a crash, or crash 3 times in a hour, there is no determining the best place to replicate it, i've crashed from afk fishing, as well as just literally being afk (tabbed out of FFXIV), but i 95% of the time crash in ex2, heres a list of the things i've tried:


-CLEAN reinstall of game, down to completely redoing my hud/config - crashed on launch
-Reinstalled and rollbacked drivers - still crash
-Ran memory/ram tests - test passed, still crashed
-Reinstalled and rollbacked to previous windows update - still crashed
-As advised by SE support, I've played around with my refresh rate (i have 155hz), i have went from 155hz to 140hz, still crashed, 140hz to 120hz, still crashed.
-FORCED vsync on in the nvidia settings - still crashed

What is going on? This PC was bought solely to play DT, its more then capable of it, yet why all of a sudden can i barely play the game without crashing all day. I've read the forums and people are experiencing the same thing, but nothing is being said by SE themselves?

Go to Start and type: cmd

In the search window you should see a program called "cmd"

Right-click on it and select "Run as administrator"

In the black window that opens, enter: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Press the Enter-key

Wait for the process to finish

Now enter: sfc /scannow (note the space between "sfc" and "/")

Press the Enter-key

Wait for the process to finish

This should scan your system for any damaged files and repair them. Once complete, please restart your PC and try to run the game again

The Dism and sfc commands are actually part of my routine maintenance on my PC. Ran this morning, still had full game freeze.

So, a little bit of an update.


I combined the two bits of advice that i was given by SE (changing my refresh rate, my current is 155hz, i changed it down to 144hz, as well as doing the corrupted file check in cmd) and i actually managed to do EX2 (where i crash the most) for 6 instances in a row, i actually managed to play for around 2 and a half hours before i crashed in EX1, i changed my graphics scaling from AMD FSR to NVIDIA DLSS at the start, not sure if thats to do with it, but i thought it was worth mentioning, but yeah still crashing



edit: its gone back to how it was, continuous crashes now

Ive been getting the exact same things, just random crashes with different error codes. Yesterday I actually got a different error code, the dreaded 11000002 directx error.

I go to open my game today and it shoots out 5 error messages but still opens and everything is fine intill it crashed again 20 mins later.

Ive done everything people have lifted and nothing works.

while this may not work for others, its ... sort've? improved my crashes, just for context, i went from not being able to play without crashing every 20-30mins, to now playing 3+ hours without a crash, i downloaded HWiNFO and noticed my temperatures were running way too high while playing FFXIV, im talking 90-98 degrees, which was making me believe it could be the cause of the crashes, i still think the fault is on SE's side in regards to it all, im guessing they are just testing out the waters and will release hotfixes as we go (copium) to improve optimisation, but for now, my PC that can DEFINITELY run this game on max graphics, will have to settle with having to run it on standard desktop setting just to get a chance to play, which it is what it is.

i can't speak for everyone, and i dont even know if it'll fix the problem fully, i plan to play all night as usual anyway so i'll update here if i get any crashes but yeah, find out your cpu (in my instance, i7-14700K) and check for any settings in your bios relating to overclocking and/or temperatures, its not the best advice on my end, because honestly - i suck at in depth stuff like this, my friends ended up helping me :s but its at least something to think of, i understand a lot of people will already of turned down the graphics, but its always worth just opening up HWiNFO and seeing if the poor optimisation is skyrocketing temperatures.


edit: for the first time in a few days, i actually logged out instead of just crashing and going to bed, in total managed to play for 6-7hrs with no crashes, doing all the content that would usually make me crash (EX2, rarely EX1, did 10-15 kills on both tonight without a single crash)
