Feel free not to use it. I loved not having to wait in a queue and not to feel the anxiety of having to play correctly in a group.
I actually groaned when the wol pulled azems crystal for the last trial.

Compared to the past when we've had three or seven adventurers pop up randomly when we're in the middle of nowhere to help us defeat Ifrit, Titan, Garuda, Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva, Ravana, Bismarck, Thordan, Susano, Sri Lakshmi, fused Shinryu / Zenos, Titania & Vauthry?

This. Honestly, it affected my MSQ experience when I was in such a momentum when I realise I had to wait 22mins for the level 100 trial. I got it fixed by asking help from people to queue me. But still. Wouldve been a more fluid experience if I didn't have to wait.
A suggestion would be only allowing it for the MSQ purpose. Any other rerun would require real people.

The problem the OP is expressing is not you shouldn’t be able to do trusts because he doesn’t like them so you shouldn’t eitherThis. His problem is DT’s story was really really bad at actually giving organic reasons as to why the people you do duty support with are actually present in the story when you need them
Using the 99 trial as an example there is no justification for why graha, y’shtola and Estinian should have made it to the top of the everkeep before the fight, similarly their justification to take graha to the unlost world is weak and is just a way to bring a healer NPC to Alexandria
Trusts are good but they aren’t worth literally bending the story in stupid ways just to have the right people in the right place, especially when they refuse to use NPC’s who are already there and have justification to be there (why was oblivion not used in origenics for example)
I don’t want the trust system to go because that first story run with trusts is good gameplay, but I’ll take losing trusts over DT’s terrible justification to always have the correct scions in the correct places for trusts
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

And summoned seven random strangers into VR. You'd think they'd stop taking our calls after awhile.
They had to use just as many contrivances for your friends who love you more than the air they breathe to all dip out at the start of every big fight. "Oh noes, a strong gust of wind blew them all away."I think this thread needs to be made again with a different title because the overwhelming majority of people aren’t reading past the title and completely missing the point of the thread
The OP doesn’t want the trust system removed because he is a meanie who wants you to suffer he wants the trust system removed or expanded in a way you he makes it so the story isn’t constantly tying itself in knots trying to justify why the correct people for each trial are always present
For example any trust member who was in zarool ja’s trial but wasn’t in origenics has no justification to be there other than for duty support l, same as the flimsy reason for why graha went to living memory, it was really just for the healer spot in Alexandria
If they can’t properly justify why people are in the spots they are for duty support then duty support isn’t worth the butchers knife the story is taking

Just, don't use it? Why should they remove something that you don't like that is optional?

I don't mind the Trusts for the trials. Makes for an more involved fight.
There are just two things I want them to pay attention though when doing it.
First:
Make it more plausible in the story. At least for the second trial it felt forced how all the characters were there. I think the leadup to the first trial was far better.
At points it really felt that they wrote the story around the trust system and I think that limits them in creativity.
Make it so more characters can be trusts.
Zarool Ja and Koana were great. Why not have Bagool JaJa or Otis as well? The scions sometimes seem only to be there to fill the Trusts.
Second:
Keep the final trial free from them.
This is just my opinion and nothing more but I like how we take the center stage in the final fight of an expansion. Stuff like in Endsinger is ok but I think the final fight should be the time for the WoL to shine. It is the great finale of an expansion.

It sure would be terrible if there was an optional feature in the game that you didn't have to use.
This
The trust system is for people that dont want to play in groups or play in their own way.
You dont have to use it. Its completely optional, but I am glad there is something for players that dont want to group for whatever reason they see fit.
I see we've hit the rock bottom of expansion discourse where people are unironically saying "Being able to do this content with story characters is detrimental to the story and formulaic, we should actually just summon 7 players for every fight because that's definitely narratively relevant and not at all formulaic"
